It was the second most watched game in the history of ESPN, not NBA history. It does seem like Yao does a much better job when he makes his move right away, instead of holding it, then trying to back the defender down. And his jump-hook is really rounding into shape. I think his most effective shots this year, is when he flashes quickly into the paint, gets the entry pass, then goes up right away with the jump hook. That shot is absolutely unblockable straight up, and he could dominate the league if he could just refine it and get some confidence with that shot.
If Ming plays against Shaq like he did against SA tonight, he will be humiliated. Shaq will show no mercy, score 50, and push Ming into the cheap seats. Wow, Yao, I love you, but you really stunk it up tonight. You looked like you were in slow motion and everyone else was at regular speed. You got to "want it," want it "real bad." Also, you have got to find a way to crank your body up to a higher speed.
yea I think Shaq is gonna be ready this time, since he now knows what Yao can do. Yao needs to use his hook shot , which should always be his primary weapon when facing Shaq. Shaq will get his points, but if Yao can just get a couple blocks on Shaq it will really boost his confidence and earn him alot of respect because he is the FUTURE, however Shaq is NOW so I expect a dominating game from Shaq. In a couple years when Shaq's all fat and his knees retire him , Yao will be the MDC.
Apparently it was the second most watched NBA regular season game in cable history: http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/review030121.html
