Just got back from the game. Yao did OK, had 20+ points, mostly from pointblank range and freethrows. He didn't take a single jumper in the whole game. The whole Chinese team looks to go inside a lot more, which is probably what Del Harris wants. Yao still gets tired quickly, but not more than you've seen before. Yi played well, too. The way he played, it's hard to believe he is only 16. I think Del really likes him, and gave him heavy minutes off the bench. Pavel scored on Yao a couple of times, but was wotherwise ineffective because of foul trouble.
man, now i gotta order NBATV, .....I hear Pavel is way overhyped, like the second coming of Sean Bradley
How many points for Pavel? I've never seen him play so I'm extremely curious on how he plays... edit: who won?
Nice, thanks alot. Your second post ever is a good one. Can you be alittle more specific? You think the Yi kid is really a top five pick based on the performance tonight? How did Harris(Mav's pg) looked?
did Yao dunk on Pavel? did he dominate like Shaq(or sorta)? how many points Yi scored? and what you think of his potential? and WHO WON?
China NT vs Dalas summer league final: china 85:80 win yao stau: 29min 22pt 11reb 4as 1bl more detail later
22 points? i'm disappointed.....i expected at least 30 points against a bunch of scrubs. come on yao you got 33 and 29 points against Shaq
Man, a national team with Yao and a future lottery pick can only beat a summer league team by 5??? What's going on in China?
that's nothing...... Man, a team with Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, and Gary Payton can't even beat an Eastern conference team? What's going on with the fakers?
Out of the three centers Mav played, Pavel didn't seem to stand out that much, although he did start for them. He picked up two quick fouls in the 1st quarter and then two more in the third, mainly out of hack-a-Yao. I think Yi is definitely a top 5 pick. What impressed me most about Yi was the way he moved on the court. You can tell he got a good understanding of the game, and the kid is only 16! I remember he had a nice post move that scored, and also a couple clean blocks that were ruled as goaltending. Oh, also, he looks quite comfortable posting-up. The Mav team obviously hadn't play together too much. There was a lot of unforced error. But, the Chinese guards were not much better...
so that means Yi is the next great chinese player? how sweet is that? we should try to draft yi so he and yao can speak chinese and opponents don't know what the heck they saying
LOL. No way Yi will end up with the Rox. Maybe we should sign up Bateer as the back-up center. He isn't too shabby.
Heech, The Chinese team was down by 5 points when they sent Yao in 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. They won the game with Yao there.
