In Houston only, Yao had better years.

For their entire career, Dwight is better. Yea Dwight got owned by Yao head to head blah blah blah. Yao got owned by Boozer and Jefferson routinely but he was still better than them overall.

Howard was a top 5 player in the NBA for a few years, Yao never reached that level.

Dwight > Yao. I think Yao was better head to head but, Dwight has more 1st team all nba and has led his team farther than yao.

When you evaluate their careers it's pretty easy to take Dwight over Yao.

But - I would still take a prime Yao (healthy of course) over a prime Dwight any day of the week.

Yup. Dwight was top 5 in MVP voting 4 times, Yao never cracked top 10. Dwight has 3 DPOYs, was top 5 in overall win shares for 3 seasons.

People here are saying Yao was better because Dwight is massively declining and isn't even close to his prime here, and Yao bested Dwight in head to head matchups.

I get it though, I'd take a healthy 09 Yao over 2016's shell of his former self Howard.

yeah that 09 def had a chance at a chip if only knee mac woulda stayed healthy

Yao was dope iconic and really enjoyed the game and took it serious...

Dwight is a weak minded player I've been tired of him as a rocket

he brought all that hate from everyone with him to H-Town

I'll be glad when he is no longer on this team

Yao>Dwight and all day any day

    Yao is so tough minded.

No one basketball fan said he was soft or lazy.

He won't laugh like a kid when he bricks freethrows... Of course he hardly miss.

Yao was in top 5 of the mvp voting 2-3 years before he went down injuries.

    30 pounds lighter maybe?

The whole Francis-Yao-McGrady Era was sad. Last season was nice historically in many ways. Hope there are more similar seasons coming soon.

Yao was very good clogging the middle but he would suffer vs stretch guys who could hit midrange shots.

Wow that is a lot of hate considering DH always shows up in the playoffs.

He is injury prone but not soft. Mr beardsanity is the one who could use more grit.

who woulda thunk we'd have one of of the greatest centers in the history of the nba on our team right now. its good to have fun but he should smacking him and his teammates upside da head for what we see on the court. #stayoncourt #beaforcewithselfdiscipline #refswillberefs #notalwaysonpoint #somehaveagendas

It's too painful to even think about the possibilities... if only we had health.

I think Yao, the Houston Rocket was the best center in the league, but isn't it interesting that Dwight instantly lost that title the second he became Dwight, the Houston Rocket?

The '09 team was amazing. The teams that lost to the Mavs and Jazz broke my damn heart.

Dwight's spin move into that block looked better than 80% of his post ups now.

The awkward thing is that's what they did... And the Rockets were clueless to combat it
