If you were starting a franchise today and could sign any player in the NBA, who would it be? 1. LeBron James, Cleveland 59.3% 2. Dwight Howard, Orlando 25.9% 3. Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers 11.1% Tim Duncan, San Antonio 11.1% 5. Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas 3.7% Last year's pick: LeBron James Which player forces opposing coaches to make the most adjustments? 1. Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers 34.6% 2. Steve Nash, Phoenix 15.4% 3. Tim Duncan, San Antonio 11.5% LeBron James, Cleveland 11.5% Shaquille O'Neal, Miami 11.5% 6. Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas 7.7% Others receiving votes: Gilbert Arenas, Washington; Kevin Garnett, Boston Last year's pick: Shaquille O'Neal Yao didn't even receive a single vote?? so much for one of the two most dominant low-post players in the game.
who cares, if yao want to get these fools on his side then he needs to win a championship. and yao, stop that weak layup crap, throw it down big man!
don't see anything wrong with that. lebron is a superstar with at least 10 more years, dwight is a walking 20/20 and like lebron has many years ahead of him, and duncan is a 4-time world champion. its not suprising at all that yao wasnt picked once, when there are at least 10 better players to start a franchise with. maybe you just OVERRATE yao, or maybe NBA gms dont want their franchise player to be blocked by midgets like nate robinson.
yao is rated right. can't beat duncan b/c he's a winner. too accomplished. bron and howard are like what? 22 and 21 w/ no history of injuries. yao's better than howard, but it's who to BUILD FOR THE FUTURE. it's tmac who's underrated here in the SF position. melo is better?
how good your team is has nothing to do with this, and perhaps i exagerrated, but dwight is good for 20/20 once in a while. it doesnt matter how bad your team is. if you get 20/20 then youre a beast.
I don't think any GM rated Duncan as the top PF AND the top C. It's just that they were asked to name the top players at each position, and half of them listed him as their PF and half listed him as their C (probably to make room for Kevin Garnett).
Maybe that's why when asked who's the best center in the NBA, they answered Yao at 33% and Dwight at a paltry 7%? Ewing once got blocked by Muggsy Bogues, who is even shorter than the players he coached on his WNBA team. Does this make him a lesser player? If you say yes, you are a moron, if you say no, you're a hypocrite.
It sure has something to do which team ur in. Name one player, ONE player in Magic who averaged more than 6 boards per game except D.Howard --- NONE. The fact is, D.Howard is the only one whos fighting for boards, in the other word, hes the only one who can rebound. There are 3 players in Rockets averaged more than 6.5 boards per game.
I would not even call Dwight Howard a franchise player. He pulls down a lot of boards and can dunk. Not bad but hardly franchise player criteria. And by now he should be showing more growth offensively.
The league is dazzled by athleticism, the fans are dazzled by athleticism, athleticism doesn't seem to come to mind when I think of Yao. Size, skills, smarts....yes, athleticism, no.
he's not one now. but u hear the hype b/c the big men is so WEAK in this era. howard's game would not be able to dominate 10 yrs ago, not even close.
