he's going back to china to get some from his honey. the boy misses her. the rockets should give him a month or two off before telling him to come back to work with moses and hakeem.

amare's roy? never. even if the suns makes the playoff, he shouldn't get the award because he's not the one that makes the suns goes while yao is for th rockets.

The Suns have just as much of a lock on a playoff spot as the Rockets do... The Suns are the only playoff contending team that's sucking as much as we are (before the Utah win at least).

First, this is a pointless thread, a rehash of others.

Second, Yao Unanimous ROY is 2 words and an acronym. But it is representative of six words.

Man, I am getting a bad rap around here. Really, I don't mean "the rest of you are really dumb", I just mean, "a lot of the rest of you are really dumb". ;)

True. But, last year they were ahead of us, too (in the lottery)! :)

Actually, I don't think it looks as striking when you take Phoenix, which has a more veteran-based lineup (Penny, Marbury, et al) vs. the Rockets (who are super young). Had Yao gone to a team with more vets, and received the same playing time he's getting now, the effect would have been even MORE than Stoudemire on the Suns. That's just my opinion, anyway.

That's my point. He is bigger than just his game. He's got game PLUS the intangibles that would make any voter look stupid not to vote for him.

Again??? This topic is totally meaningless. I don't think Yao himself cares about ROY so much. If he misses the playoff and amare doesn't, he will look worse than amare no matter what.

I agree with Axeman. Unless Yao is struck by lightening, he has ROY wrapped up already. In the local talkshow here in LA, they talked about how unfair it was for the other rookies when Yao got so much ink in the media. They said that in order for other rookies to beat out Yao, they must have much superior stats than Yao. Since no one is even close to doing that, Yao will win this one going away.
