Doubt it,this is such an important decision that he needed to get the best advice possible. That took time.

I hope he has a successful surgery and he is able to fully recover, at his own pace and not feel pressured to return to either of his teams.

I don't see how it affects it one way or the other. If the surgery is successful, Yao will be ready to play by next summer, just in time to fulfill CNT obligations if they choose to make him play.

this has morey's name written all over it.

he made that decision for yao because he thought that from a statistical standpoint chances are that clanton will get it right this time. ;)

btw: i wish yao good luck. he has chosen the best option for all parties involveld. remember, folks, this is a very serious surgery. if it doesn't work out the way it's supposed to then this was it for yao's career as a basketball player. he could have easily chosen a more moderate approach at the potential cost of not playing in any games for the rockets until his current contract expires.

Will he play or rest during the 2010 FIBA world championships?

As a doctor, Dr. Tom Clanton must be very exciting to do such a challenge surgery.

Hey guys don't get down in the dumps. Maybe this is happening for a reason. And plus we have the rights to David Andersen. And did you see those youngsters in Summer League. A perfect Summer League 5-0. They defeated the Lakers 92-77. That should cheer you up. It cheers me up. I can't wait till the regular season starts. Everybody will take us lightly and we will make them regret it. :D

    how much weight is that?

i can't tell how big each of those plates is. they look bigger than 10lb and less than 25lb. but what's in between?

if those are 10lb plates, it'd be about 130lb on each arm.
if those are 25lb plates, it'd be about 300lb on each arm and that's just ridiculous.

So Yao will be 30 when he comes back in '10-'11 it will probably take him half of that season to feel completely comfortable with his game. So we are looking at age 31 for '11-'12 when he returns to form, can he still have a successful personal career after that?

I think those are 120's. His arm don't look big enough to be benching 600.

The whole city is behind you big guy. It is what it is, and we only hope to see you back on the court at full strength. We'll hold down the fort while you're gone.
