    LOL.
Yao is showing that he is increasingly injury prone, these extra low quality games are just adding more possibilities that he'll be hurt. It's actually pretty sad that we have to think of that so much with our star player...trading him may not be such a bad idea..it'll only get worse with age.

Yao should focus to play in Olympics only. Any games before Olympics are a risk to him that may cause him to miss the biggest and most important event of his life.

Yao Ming set to return in July and then Yao Ming out for season in December.

    Rinse and repeat.

Can't help it. It's been the norm for the past 3 years.

explain how I am a bigot, please. humor me. I've had a long day @ work and I need a good chuckle.

I want what's best for the HOUSTON ROCKETS. you're right in that yao has the right to do whatever he wants n his free time...including dedicating himself 100 percent to the rockets. as is, he is not.

You still don't get it, do you?

Yao Ming is on his right track from his rehab. He now can run and jump, and had started some physcial contact basketball day-in day-out in Toyota Centre.

Yeah, he has yet to get the all-clear medical, which IMHO is just a matter of time, and a formality, to resume playing "real" competitive games.

So those pre-Olympics warm-up tournaments will just provide him the best warm-up and training to shake off his rust and dust, and be able to return to top competitive form and conditions for the Olympics. And I'm sure his coach will not play him heavy minutes in those games.

The risk of him getting re-injured is in fact much higher, if China just inserts him back to play in the Olympics without letting him play in some warm-up/build-up tournaments.

Even for the USA national team comprised of strong and experienced NBA players, they also have scheduled exhibition games/tournaments prior to the Olympics. They are to play Canada on July 25, and then take part in a 3-Nations tournament against Australia and Russia in Shanghai (from August 3 to 5).

So should we say hey Kobe Bryant, Amare Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard or whoever is on the USA team should just focus on the Olympics; any games before the Olympics pose injury threats/risks to them, that may cause them to miss the Olympics?

That depends... primarily on if the bones in their legs also tend to snap like twigs.

And presumably Kobe, Carmelo, D Howard, etc. will get to take next summer off like they took the previous summer off.

It would be nice if Yao got to spend a summer leveling his WoW character and letting his joints rest.
