Its called communism. Limited free will. I wonder if the Rox will ever get the balls after the Olympics and deny the summer ball like the Cavs are doing Big Z.
Thats what I am hoping for also. I just hope China gets its ass kicked so bad in all these tournaments that they just give up the idea of asking Yao to play. Screw China! Go Rockets!!!!
lol. so if I don't think that playing for china should be a bigger priority I'm a ****ing idiot, huh? ok, let's look at it. china's his home. they provided - on their dime - all of his "amateur" training. pretty big debt, huh? well, I think that debt is more than settled by the exposure he brings to china, doors he opens to china due to his performance, and career as a potential HOF talent. do you not think that his nba success has DIRECT benefits to Mother China? should he shorten his nba caree in an effort to repay and, willfully, represent china now? I think that's a little shortsighted. if its a pride matter, then display your pride by excelling on the grandest stage. isn't that the purpose of training...to excel? isn't that part of why he was allowed to come here? don't you think a 14+ yr career in the states could do more for China than a year round, shortened career? of its all a matter of principal, do your best here, make the biggest impact possible, then pave the way for others via pay, play, and opportinities for others. his career is in DIRECT, IMMINENT jeopardy due to physical stress. these commitments are a direct factor. tell me how extending his shelf life and increasing his power, $, and career on this stage is "idiotic" please...
also, I notice you didn't dispute my suggestion 2 field offers for yao. so, u agree that his actions are not in the rocket's best interest? ultimately, that's where my fandom lies...with the rox. yao's personal obligations are tied with the org and, imo, conflict with them at times. we knew that fron the beginning though. well, if he was providing enough on the court to offset those concessions on his - and our - part, it'd be ok. but his off-injured status (gee, I wonder why) make that a moot point. the rox aren't here for Mother China. We're here as a business (which China bolsters, yes) and to win championships. we're best served, imo, by disallowing (or at least limiting) that participation. it serves us, AND THEM, best. where are your allegiances?
You better pray China play good in this Olympics, otherwise CNT will ask Yao to play every small games after such as Asian games, Asian Championship, etc. in your "offseason".
This would be AWESOME news, it means Yao is getting healthy....and with him getting a couple of months extra training with the CNT for the Olypics it means a better Yao for the Rockets next season. HURRAY YAO !! DD
The Olympics will begin in early August and I guess even your grand mom knows Yao is going to play in it. So what's wrong to ease him into the lineup starting in late July? Do you want Yao to play his first competitive game after the injury in Olympics? Would it make the chance of injury even higher if the first comeback game is a competitive game in the Olympics? Use your brain. And one more thing, if you are smart, you should wish the Chinese team do well in the Olympics. A good tournament is always a good exit stage for a great player from his national team duty. If they do not do well in Olympics, you will see Yao keep playing for them. Don't make dumb wish.
why bother to argue? this's a american forum where the majority of the members are american. And it's a rox forum after all, there's no point and no way for you to convince the ppl here to put china ahead of the rox. really, i dont think there is anything wrong for the american rox fans to consider the ball club first. And to those who r not american, rember that you are talking to american (some are teenages). And you expect them know the outside world? like knowing anything about china before they are talking about china; like understanding lots other counties' ppl unforcly put their love to his countries over their jobs. i mean, anyone expects that is as ridiculous as wut some of the rox fans posted here
I never understand why people would not want Yao to do well for both the CNT and the Rockets.......he is a wonderful player and an even better Human being. I am very happy he is playing on my favorite team and I get to share my team with an entirely new breed of fan from another country. How FRICKEN cool is that? Go Rockets, Go CNT, GO YAO ! DD
Take your political sh1ts out of this forum and go preach in the D&D please. Who is talking about politics here? My point is that they have to ease a player back to the starting lineup and back to competitive form. And they have to start doing that in late July if he will have to play competitive ball in early August in the Olympics. Therefore, whoever jumping up and down that he will play in the tournament is r****ded. No one even knows how many minutes he will play. It could well be just 10-15 minutes to help him to get back to competitive shape. Therefore, I wonder what people like Rockets03 indeed want. Does he really want Yao to wait to play his very first game after the injury in the Olympics? Does he want Yao to step the first time onto the court after the injury in an Olympics game? He's definitely not hoping for the best of Yao or the Houston Rockets if that's really his wish. Now, what does that have anything to do with politics. Take your political sh!ts back to the D&D.
nope, it's doesn't make wut i've writtien political just becoz u say it's. i wrote the funny feeling i have in my mind after i red those "yao was forced to play for cnt" "limited freedom" posts. if those r not political, mine's certainly not. and ur post in this topic? i didn't even finish reading it after i got ur point coz it was just too damn long. so i wasn't pointing my finger at u. D&D? i dont remeber if i've ever visited there coz i'm here all for bball n yao.
btw, wut's up with the "Dirk Nowitzki Jerseys Official Site - Dallas Mavericks Discount Dirk Nowitzki Jersey Sale www.mavgear.com" on the bottom? i thought this's a rox forume or Clutch wants us to flame storm that site?
Last time I checked Yao's free will is to play in the Olympics. He'd lose his free will if he can't play in it. Are we talking about the same concept of 'free will' here? Please enlighten me if the concept of 'free will' means differently to you. And what's wrong with gradually easing him back to the game by giving him the chance to play a few exhibition games in late July when the Olympics will start in early August? Do you want his first game back from the injury is to compete in an Olympics elimination game? Would that just set him up for another bad injury? Why do you want that to happen?
You're not an idiot, you're just a bigot. There are probably a million things you would like to have big Yao do. But the fact of the matter is, Yao decides what's important to him and not you. If Yao chooses playing video games over running suicides in his free time, then so be it. If Yao chooses Chinese food over protein shakes, then so be it. If Yao chooses to serve his country for the Olympics rather than sit idly, then so be it. I respect Yao for his principles, I respect Yao for his dedication, and I respect Yao for bridging nations through a common past time. If Yao brings Houston a Championship, I would be ecstatic. If he doesn't, I'll still be happy to have witnessed his man's unprecedented journey.
Seriously, I could care less about his journey as a man or whatever. If that journey has a path wherein he can endanger the longevity of his career, then I would prefer that he avoid that path. I agree that the Rockets should probably do to him what the Cavs did to Ilgauskaus (sp?). It will do the Rockets and their fans a world of good.
"He's doing great," Huizinga said. "The reports that he's been cleared to play are not correct. The checkups have been very good. He had one today. But it's much too early for him to be cleared. _____ Sounds like everything is on target, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
