Sina have people read this board 24x7 to catch news. I bet somebody from sina is making calls to Yao and Rockets to confirm this.
If this is true, we can pencil the Rockets in at #5 meeting the Spurs in the 1st round. IMO, home-court wouldn't matter in the series.
Highly doubt that.. they most likely left AT NIGHT. They are already back. PLUS, Yao was never on the bench, he could have already come back to Houston and got some tests. That might not be the reason though, he could just be out because of the pain?
If this is true, it doesn't really worry me all that much with the way Deke has been playing. We should still win those final two. Hell, we won 22 in a row with Deke as our starting center at one time. No sweat.
Absolutely. I can guess wildly and say the stock market is up on Monday by 100 pts. If my gues turns out to be true, I'm a financial wizard. If it's wrong, I hide and pretend I never said it.
Obviously the guy who said think he has some insider info or maybe he is an insider, why are you fighting with that?
When do we find out the results of Yao's new test? Thanks, Jonathan. (The flight doesn't even land until 4. I would not be surprised if they wait until Sunday. We'll see. -- Jonathan) Posted by: Jonathan P at April 11, 2009 11:15 AM
I rather wait till Monday and get the official report on Yao's status. The Rockets should beat the Hornets on Monday. The Hornets will be on b2b against the Rockets. The Dallas game without Yao if true will be tough but they will have a chance to win as well.
Huh? I'm not trying to fight anyone. All I'm saying to SugarLandDream8 is that it would really make sense if this was true. Maybe they are just sitting him out though as a precautionary measure... I mean even before they even see the x-rays.
I would tend to believe that Yao would play through the pain in the playoffs... I don't think he would consider shutting it down for the rest of the year at this point. He's come too far. I am worried though. Timing is everything in this league. One day you're at the top of the mountain, and the next you're in a pile of crap.
They took an x-ray last night and it came back negative. The new test will be performed by the team surgeon Tom Clanton to double check everything since he knows Yao's health status better than anyone.
If it is fine, he should play......home court matters...the Rockets probably won't win without homecourt... DD
