Francis' video was taped by us at the Rockets, along with videos of Rudy, Les, CEO George Postolos and Michael Goldberg. We also produced a video that comes from the Rockets as a team -- we're one of the leading teams in sports in terms of dollars given to community causes, and we're pretty proud that Yao took this on. We weren't able to get a satellite uplink to CCTV (China) until late last night (around 10 p.m. Friday), but the material will be on the telethon and we'll also have it on rockets.com. Don't know if nba.com will pick it up or not, but our site is hosted on nba.com servers, so they can pick it up pretty easily if they want. Tim
Does anybody here have CCTV through Thai satellite system ? and what channel are they doing to show Yao's program? Thanks. Vincent
People, You can watch the telethon online at here on 11/5 from 5 p.m. (China time). You need WMP to watch it. You can also chat online with Yao at here. For Windows XP users, you need to download a java chat program at here first. And you can join an auction for various stuff from various superstars like Yao, Jordan, Agassi, Tiger Woods etc etc at Yao's official site. Hope that helps. Cheers.

After he got back to Shanghai, he decided he wouldn't participate in any activities due to his need rest thoroughly after a long National Basketball Association season. Once in Shanghai, Yao Ming was deeply touched by the medical personnel who have been working so hard to fight against SARS. He decided he needed to contribute whatever he can in order to help out. In addition to spending time with the nurses and seeing them off to the fronts lines, he made the decision to work with Shanghai TV for this telethon. The live program will start at 5pm on May 11 for three hours on Shanghai TV sports channel. Audiences can use the hot lines 133-0166-0043, or 160-5511 (Shanghai local), cell phones or e-mail (www.sohu.com) to communicate with Yao Ming, Sun Wen and Chi Hon. Yao Ming's Houston Rockets teammate Steve Francis, and other NBA stars along with NBA Commissioner David Stern will be included in the program. Additionally, many European stars have also been invited. Also, many Chinese athletes from other locations will join this program. All of those involved in the program want to express their determination to win the war against SARS. During the three hour program, every 15 minutes Yao Ming, Sun Wen and Chi Hon will let the viewing audience bid on various items donated by the Upper Deck Company and signed by famous international stars and athletes. Can anyone log on the chatroom? Damn I can't. The website said that Yao is in here right now. I desperately want to read what he has to say and want him answer my questions. HELP.
Yeah, Yao is on now. I just logged on using the guest option (the one at the far right of the loggin page). Make sure to fill in an unique guest name.
I still can't log on. It said the applet is not loaded. I can't figure out why. I've already downloaded that chat program. Panda, what has Yao said?
LOL. Did you see that auction on the Yao site? Someone named Yao Ming (and I think it's Yao himself) bid nearly everything but seemed to lose every one of his bid.
When asked who he want most the response from, Yao says he wants his teammates's response most.(To support his telethon)
