I don´t think he is not effective, i think he has reached his peak, and the league knows how to stop him when it matters most, this has happen to many players, not only Yao.

I think there is an overall thought in the league that clogging the lane and making the entry pass to yao difficult to remove time frm the shot clock usually ends with Yao having to take an extremely difficult turnaround jump or a hook shoot not near the rim.

Nothing against yao but a compliment to other teams game plans.

Do you think past few games the defense really bothered Yao that much. I don't think so.

I understand when they play Warriors, ok, when they PLAYED warriors. He was being fronted which really slowed him down.

This season, I wouldn't say it is due to opponents' defense.

This year opponent defense are just collapsing on him. The lack of spacing and the bad shooting, teams are making the rockets hit their shoots from outside. Without a 2nd superstar on the team, there is no reason for the opponent to care about anybody else.

Yesterday was the classic sample. first half he was getting single team and Yao eat their front line alive, second half, they collapse the entire defense on him, he was doing the right thing passing the ball out.

The OP just made me laugh with his post!

Seriously, this is what I want from Yao: demand respect from your teammates, I don't ever want to see Yao go for long stretches without touching the ball, good things happened when the ball goes through Yao.

Yao also has to keep up with his intensity and aggressiveness, I've got a feeling that if he is aggressive, the f**king refs will chill out with the BS calls.

And finally, every once in awhile , whenever a punk is trying to show you off, let him get a little taste of your 7'6'' 310lbs+ frame, foul that loser hard so the next time, he'll think twice before he wants to do that again.

I pretty much agree that we have no other superstar right now. But once Tracy will be what he used to, and Ron will get healthly this team will be impossible to stop, I hope so.

But he could be more agressive. Really, it is not all about that defense.

Yao is too slow to do the '2 or more movement at once' without getting stolen.

Guys ,What can I say, Yao used to be a good shooter ,he can shoot 3 ,and middle range. and he moved better .Yao can see some games in the first or two season in NBA,But people tried to make him like shaq,Some great moves just disappears becuase of his weight .NOW I think he needs to learn more, because the league is changing. This is NBA!
