That's why I find it funny when people complain about our decision to put Yao on Boozer in the playoffs a couple years ago, when the alternative matchup was Okur. Yao can't even guard to 17 feet effectively. How could we expect him to guard the 3-point line?

we gotta find a way to hide him or he has to put 40 pts on the offensive end and foul those midgets out. we haven't been able to do neither.

I've never seen Yao complained his coach since his early career.
Last night he even talked some dirty words initially and then criticized the plan.
Not only a loss or 1/82, this team is now in big trouble.
Either Yao or Adelman should go away.

I know he never runs out. But he's complaining about the gameplan. All I'm saying is at least try. I'd rather make Murphy beat you off the dribble than giving him a WIDE open shot. Yao's just staring waiting for him to shoot

JVG even acknowledges this fact. if yao tries to run out to his man everytime, dude will probably die by the end of the first quarter.

again, we just have to devise a game plan where we can play small ball (this won't happen until tracy is fully healthy and that's why you haven't seen it much), or play a 2-2-1 zone to hide yao...

JVG would be 13-3 with this talent, are you kidding me? look what he did with less than mediocre talent.

Yao and Adelman overestimated each other!

There's been plenty of reports from China in the past of Yao criticizing his coach or teammates. Yao's lucky to have that outlet for him to throw his team under the bus. Most players have to keep that bottled up.

why did you guys skip on this post? IMO this is the plain and simple fact. Ask Yao to defend 3pt shooter? Anyone who remember Okur??? and what is the result? if Yao defend to the 3pt line, who do we have to defend the rim??? it's not only the 3pts that killed us, we also sucked hard on offense, shooting below 40% and you still expect to win? even with 10 more offensive boards that's tough. so I would say we deserve this loss. only haters blame this on Yao for one or two plays. how silly!

The truth, we only had to guard Murphy's 3s. He was red hot but his teammates couldn't bury a 3 pointer. If I were RA, I'll just let Landry stay with Murphy. That's it. You are simply crazy to let Yao guard somebody like Murphy beyond the arch.

I said that yesterday when Murphy have 3 foul.

Rockets play zone only one time.

If they want to stop Murphy to burning Yao you play Zone and take Yao out of the 3 point line. And in the other end you get Murphy out with 6 fouls and problem fix.

RA bail Murphy out and waist a few possession with Scola replacing Yao when you are wining.

JVG needs to reintroduce Yao to coach Adelman...."this is Yao Ming he is the most dominate player in the low post…"

It's been quite obvious that Yao and RA don't have the same rapport as Yao did with JVG. Yao loved JVG, and routinely spoke about how hard JVG worked, and how the team should go out there to make him proud.

Rick Adelman sucks bad last night. You don't ever take Yao out just because Murphy make two 3s on him. First of all, Rockets are still up by 4pts at that time. But when he take Yao out, that totally send a message to the Pacers that they can take over the game now and that's what they did...by attacking the basket because Yao is not there. I am sooo damm pissed with Adelman and why he does that....Yao being in the lineup has more benefit than cost...first, opponents will have to live with outside out and i doubt Murphy is going to continue making them. Second, all you got to do is tell Yao to go out a bit more to guard him...he clearly didn't do that. So instead of letting Yao play, i believe Rick Adelman is frustrated and PUNISHED Yao by benching him. He didn't intend to take Yao out and put him back in afterward. You know why?? Because you can see Yao is actually sitting on the bench thinking he wouldn't be playing anymore. But a min later....the stupid coach felt it was a mistake to take Yao out and then put him back in. But it was kind of late because the Pacers have done damage by attacking the basket with Yao out. I felt the whole thing is screwed up...momentum of both team, sending a feel good message to the other team...everything is screwed up taking Yao out. This is just a stupid coaching strategy.

Third of all, i have a message for Rick Adelman. Let's just say Dallas is using Dirk to play Center...are you going to bench Yao the entire game??? Very clever idea....but very stupid !!!

I always like JVG for his substitution pattern and his ability to maintain the lead knowing who to put in the game. JVG has that killer mentality that even if they're up by 10pts...he takes no bullshyt chance by playing a bunch of mediocre players like Adelman did in LA in benching all 3 superstars. Adelman's offense is superior to JVG in terms of movement and creativity but when it comes to strategy and substitution...he sucks bad!!! I think perhaps this is the reason he never won Championship in his career.
