not sure if this was posted or not (if it was im sorry in advanced) today on a show called explorers, an asian-american lady ( the 1 from charlie's angels i think) did a story on Yao and got to talk to him. It was pretty interesting. They showed where Yao used to live, and the gym he played at. At one point Yao let the reporter ride with him in his suv, and she started asking hime questions about the pressure. One thing he said stood out. "People see Jordan scoring 30 points ans Shaq getting 20 rebounds, and they say Yao should do that. I'm not shaq. I'm a rookie." He also said that when asian people come up to him and say the asian community is counting on him, he thinks it is too much pressure. Overall the interview was pretty kool but when he said this i started thinking if the pressure could affect his game play. What do you guys think? (and his english was really good)
First, you are about 10 days late. Second, Lisa Ling did the Yao story in Ultra Explorer, while Lucy Liu starred in Charlie's Angel.
Yao has yet to dissappoint me. I feel no one is as humble as him, and i've never, ever been unimpressed by him.
