google search: cbs sportsline <player name>

First link should be their player file. Click game log. Those numbers happen to be Excel friendly (unlike the gamelogs at ESPN.com or NBA.com). I just C&P them into Excel (paste special - text) and go to work.

Another very good site for raw team/player stats is www.dougstats.com. But he doesn't keep track of individual games, so you can't track progress that way. Very good for determining team rank in various categories and calculating stuff like offensive/defensive ratings (points/possession) and pace.

And I'll be the first to say that I spend WAY too much time pouring over these numbers. I can't help it; I'm an NBA-stat addict.

Excellent, thanks. Now I maybe I will be able to figure out why JVG likes Juwan so much.

I can't wait to see you do a comparison graph on Juwan and Stro. That will settle the debate once and for all, and clear up about a third of the threads in the GARM. :D

Tango and Durvasa, both of you are so cool and I appreciate very much for your works.

I know it sounds crazy but wouldn't it be nicer if we could do the same analysis to other great centers playing nowadays and compare them against Yao? Players like Shaq, Ben Wallace, and of course we shouldn't forget the best and 2nd best centers in the WC namely Chris Kaman and Erick Dampier! :D :D :D

I know getting the data ready is probably the most time consuming part of this task but if it was kind of routine and easy-to-follow task, I believe many of us here won't mind to do the donkey work for you as long as you tell us how to do so. :)
