You'd probably break everything else but the leg with the foot in question would be sticking skyward from your twitching corpse like an exclamation point---I'M DEPRESSED!---probably the only part of you that isn't fractured. If you jump, you might land next to where I jumped out in front of a bus. Great season, hunh?
Almu, its obvious some people here never paid attention during biology or any science class. hint to r****ds: your feet support your body mass. the more body mass you have, the more pressure on your feet.
By the way, Shaq Daddy is a big ole man. He don't got no stinkin foot problems! We just unlucky. I am depressed...what a freakin horrible day. If it wasn't for my wife, kids, friends and family, great job and belief that suicide is kinda of a sin, I would kill myself!!
i blame China. he doesn't need to play for them! he'll bring more glory to his country winning an NBA title.
It is hard to escape the thought that someone who is as large as Yao cannot subject his feet to the pounding of an NBA season without injuries. If that is the case, this could (and I certainly hope not) be a career ending injury. When almost every season something happens to his feet, not a good sign.
***** happens, we got to move on, don't think about it. Houston Rockets managed in the past to play without Yao, who is incredibly gifted player with so many bad luck. It seems like every year when Rockets go on a roll, something bad happens, last year Rockets finally played good ball and expected T-Mac to be back and all the sudden you see Yao going down with knee injury. Crazy things happen, this is a very bad day for basketball, for Yao, for T-Mac, for whole team, organization, you and me, world. Rockets have no chances but to go small, ala Suns, Warriors, up tempo with all shooters around. I know you're all frustrated, but heck there have been worse moments for organization and fans, we will survive hopefuly everything, good and bad things. Go Rockets!
I'm a glass half full type of guy, so I like to compare Yao to big Z, who after his foot problems became one of the most durable big men.
Almu, I'm certainly no expert, but my guess is that this could have been caused by a single incident just as easily as by longer-term overuse. Is there a doctor in the house who can enlighten us?
For every Bill Walton there is a.... For every Bill Walton there is a Zydrunas Ilgauskas -- he had a problem foot, but over the past half decade he's been the most durable big man in the game. There's no reason Yao Ming can't come back and continue to be the best big man in the game.
True. I don't think Z even played for a couple years before he finally got over the foot problems. Of course I hope Yao doesn't end up as slow as that guy.
I don't disagree with your idea but there is no reason to bring up Van Gundy into the argument. It also implies that you are blaming Adelman as well. I'm not an Adelman supporter or a Van Gundy hater but Yao's injury has nothing to do with coaching.
It is still a bit too early to say Yao will be like Walton. Before this injury, all his three major ones were freak accidents (including the one that he let an ingrown toenail to develop into a bone infection). This one is the FIRST major injury that is resulted from normal playing, i.e., daily pounding. Yao, learn your lessons, don't ever try to tough it out again!!! And say NO to the CNT for those meaningless games!
