Barkley will generally talk with you out at a bar etc. -- probably not if you walk up to his table while he is eating - but I know he has been really cool to a couple of my friends chilling at a bar. Now if you followed him home... hell your ass would be dirt. ________________________ I would bet anything this incident is going to cause some security changes within the Rockets organization. I mean this is bad - disrespectful to the extreme...
Barkley is cool. May even drink a beer with you, depending on the situation. You don't bother anyone while they are eating. I doubt it causes many. If anything it will have a few extra police officers around the where the players drive out making sure people aren't sitting in cars waiting to follow them or they won't let all those fans stand out there anymore who try to get autos after the game. They could have team security follow him home too. Unbelievable that this happened. I promise these guys are just super lucky they chose Yao and not TMac
I agree with this. They don't make any race, fans or the board look stupid. They make themselves look like douche bags. They also chose to put their pics all over the internet so they may be hearing from somebody soon, you never know. Now they know how "cool" they really were. I still can't believe they took a picture with his mom. Even the stupidest of human beings has to know how disrespectful that is. How funny would it have been if Yao had went Pacman on them and capped all 3 of them?
What's up with the name callings in this thread? These guys have done something inappropriated and dumb. No question about it. But the racist terms used by some posters are equally annoying. From what the OP has described, they were friendly and didn't pose any threat to Yao. You can call them crazy fans. But please save the derogatory name callings.
I was NOT the one taking pictures but regardless of that, some of you guys are going WAAAYYY overboard. Racial comments are uncalled for. Also, comments like "kill them" or anything close to that just dont make any sense to me. The thread started off mildly, with some jokes and some ppl disliking the thread...but now its turned into rude comments that take everything out of context. If i saw the last few pages of the thread without looking at the pictures, I would seriously think the story was that some "indian" guys jumped out of the bushes to scare the Sh** out of Yao and then forcefully held him to take pics with them on gunpoint or something. In fact, I just spoke to one of the guys and Yao was NOT mad, they did not shove their way into his garage, and there was no harassment/force involved. I don't necessarily agree with ppl disliking this but ppl have their opinions and thats fine. however, dont make rude comments and hype up the situation into a whole diff story. Im sure his neighbors frnds or ppl that found out where Yao lived have knocked on his door at other times just to get an autograph or to maybe take a picture with him. Does anyone agree with me or am i the only person who seems to think that the situation is being taken out of context?
There was absolutely nothing racist about that comment. Your the second person to say that. Yeah he called them dirty, but since when was "dirty" a racial slur?
i like how ppl claim things are racist that are not....but nobody has mentioned that this is the most racist thing in this thread...
This isn't being taken out of context. Some of the remarks towards indians, etc, those are just uncalled for, but for you to say that this situation was taking out of context, not a chance. This can alter the security, can alter the way goes home. This may force Yao to get some security guards, or move to another neighborhood. Things like this bring consequences. BTW, of course Yao wasn't mad, he is a great guy, he isn't going to get mad, but if you think he probably didn't talk trash after your friends left, well then you are just ignorant. We are talking about a guy that just got out of work and gets followed by a couple of crazy fans. This isn't a normal thing, that's why they are called crazy fanatics. Its one thing to try to get their autograph in public, or perhaps you pass by Yao's house and he is mowing the lawn and you want a picture of you and him, that isn't bad, but to literally follow him all the way home, that's a whole different story and situation your friends presented. Honestly, I don't feel we are taking this out of context, excluding the racist remarks of course.
i feel you on the race issue man. it doesn't make sense. However, just because somebody says "those Pakistani dudes are idiots." Thats not racist. That's not saying all Pakistani's are idiots. If someone says "These Islamic terrorists are crazy"...thats not saying all Islamic people are terrorists... Just ....and i didnt see anyone else say "kill them"...if they are, are they referring to "them" as in Pakistanis? or "them" as the trespassers?
if i had a gun and i saw three guys that i didn't know follow me home and coming into my garage, i'd probably reach for it. if they kept coming, i'd probably shoot to kill...doesn't' matter what their race is
omg this thread freakin made my day! thank you phycos for my new wallpaper titled douchbag stalkers. get a freakin life guys
Talking about Yaos house and security. I know Hakeems house is gated and aint no way in heck u can follow him in there and if you did he actually has "dags". I'm surprised a Houston icon in the making, big yao doesn't live in/with proper security, dags and a gated house. By the way, Does Yao live in Sugarland? I know most of our pro athletes get cribs in the SL and T-Mac lives there, does Yao as well? PS. Randomdude, that was a ****ed up thing for your boys to do, its paparazzi like and if you've ever seen or talked to the paparazzi they say all the same things you just said. ( I covered a soccer match in NY 2 years back when England were in the states and Beckham was coming in from Madrid. The paparazzi went mental tailing his ride from JFK to his hotel and much more during his stay. Also said stupid sh*t like he didnt look upset. I dunno if you can be the judge of that.)
