1. I agree completely. Though the Spurs have proved you can be sucessful with an elite 6th man, I think you play your best players. That being said, Yao isn't HEALTHY. I'd like to play him in the 1st too, but this 6 min a quarter garbage isn't effective. 2. Why can't Yao get going "early" in the 2nd quarter. If it's Yao's first minutes, than we are still getting him involved early.
Then I repeat: Yao should not play in 4th quarter unless Yao's fire is lit up accidently. Yao must play in the first quarter. I mean I completely disagree with you.
The question I asked was do you think the 3 quarter, 8 min strategy is a good one or do you think it should stay the way it is? I guess you're saying "yes i do like that idea, but i'd prefer Yao to sit the fourth and play the first." correct? By then he will have played 24 minutes so he won't be playing in the 4th even if "Yao's fire is lit". You have to understand why I'm slightly confused.
no, just no. i don't want brad to start and so is hill. hill starts because of back to back limit. brad is too old and i've seen lazy passes from hill to the pgs.
why, his first point emphasizes starting Yao to establish the tempo,"especially in the Playoffs" This suggestion was aimed at establishing some chemistry before January comes and Yao limits get reduced by doctors. I don't want Yao to miss the first quarter in the playoffs either.
If Yao is stuck at 24 min per game, I wish they would do it but the moment the limit goes up then back he goes into the starting lineup.
If he doesn't establish tempo soon,he will be playing catch up over a long period of time. He can get more rest in the latter part of the regular season, and play in the important games before the playoffs.
I appreciate you trying to explain to me but you totally lost me. I really don't know what you're saying. Important games, more rest later? If anything Yao will get less rest as the season goes on. I don't really understand your post.
