Yao's number of attempts combined with his percentage is a testament to his abilities. Players are fouling him at a torrid pace despite the fact it's nearly a guaranteed two points because it's the only way to slow him down. Those ft's are giving him what - another 8 or 9 points a night? Basically like making 4 or 5 shots extra. Pretty incredibe.
ok ....well tell me what the difference is when a defender runs into a player after he has already released the ball. It really doesnt affect the shot much.
i think one other reason why Dream's FTAs would be lower than Yao's is the fact that Dream took WAY more outside jumpers than Yao, whereas all of Yao's offense starts, and often ends, in the post.
My thoughts exactly. So I don't think his 10 FT attempts reflects more respect from the referees or fair officiating whatsoever. Yao is still brutally being pushed and shoved on the court night in and night out, even if you see blood on the court.
That's a nice average, but I still get the feeling he's still getting a ton of no-calls. I'm not talking about ticky tack fouls, I'm talking about the rake the arm, gouge the eye fouls.
