I can guarantee that Yao's words were NOT lost in translation. There might be a few problems in the translation here and there, but the whole tone is absolutely right.

BTW-I am a big Yao Ming fan but I find it funny that people aren't happy with his skilled, patient, humble and intelligent way of going about things and try and make him out into a badass.
