It's a Shanghai paper. Chen Ming has written a lot of articles about Yao Ming and Shanghai basketball.

    That's communism for ya...:)

Honestly, it amazed me that the SK team was so impressive last time out. Anyone have any scouting reports on them? I don't think there was anything in the International Hoops Forum...

It seems that nobody is really concerned about this article. I can't read chinese so I won't pretend to know what it says, but are there any direct quotes from Yao?

Yao said " he is too tired, and had leg injury for 2 month because of over-work." he also said " he wanted to take a good rest after the asian tourney"

I am worried. The reporter of this article has some credits, and she usually doesnt write craps. I am really concerned.

I think we're all pissed and concerned, but what can be done? The dude has to play for his national team. That's the only way we could get him. The only thing we can do is get him over here as quick as possible and let a non-moron take a look at him and get him back into shape.

I've just got something to add before this thread is abandoned; Yao suffered a left leg fracture in 98-99 which limited him to just 12 games when he played for the Sharks.

This is probably pointless information, but I thought I might bring it up just in case you guys weren't worried enough.

Too tired? Still? Can we check a CBC, chemistry and thyroid profiles on the big fella please?

Does anyone know what sort of preemployment physical exam NBA players are put through? Is it a league standard, or team-by-team, or not even thought of except when there's a reason to worry?
