Looked like a real practice to me from the footage of Yao on the noon sports segment from CBS (Ch. 11). Maybe he was being introduced to the plays one by one, but it appeared that he was running up & down the court and showing his low-post moves a bit!
Jeff, did you get D- in your GEOG101? If the timezones are close, it means the two location are geographically close(longitude wise). You think Shanghai is located in Carribean?
It is night when it is day here. Yao should be ok now but he will start feeling it in the afternoon. I can see him trying to stay up until dinner and then zonking until 6 or 7 in the morning. He should be ok after that. Jet lag also effects people more when they are the type that sleep alot. If Yao is one of those guys that only need 4-6 hours sleep then he should be ok by now and definitely by tomorrow morning.
this guy is too good to be true. we have a real gem here. hopefully ming's work ethic will rub off on the rest of the team. cmon season get here now...
Ron, how did he look from the highlights of his practice? I can't wait to hear reactions from teamates.
Jeff, Shanghai, China is "half way around the world". It's about 12 to 13 hours time difference. It's a major adjustment. This just shows how dedicated the man is. I travelled to Hong Kong China in March and there is an adjustment. Go Ming!
I'm an idiot. This is why I was a journalism major and avoided the math department like it was the entrance to the gates of hell which, of course, it was (and still is!).
Those photos are awesome and a much awaited sight!! That's it. If he practiced already, then I'm obligated to go to the SBC Wednesday.
>> Newsflash: Yao Ming's tall. LOL! Actually, I can see this as a running news item throughout Yao's career.... "This in from Houston... Yao Ming is still tall."
No kidding! I was about 2 feet from him at the airport and the guy is just freaking huge! It isn't just tall either. He is BIG!!!
anybody see me in the news last night. Wearing the superman shirt. and i'm also in todays paper. hahah. A little shameless plug for myself
A funny element from practice, we're told, was that trainer Keith Jones would tell him things to do, such as stretching exercises, and most veterans kind of joke around about it or don't take it as seriously. I see why they get so many injuries.
I rather own this practice jersey than a real, official, stitched logo, pajama jersey... anyone else with me?
Boy, I am surprised they open it up to the media again. You can see this is as much about selling tickets than anything. Do not get me wrong, I am cool with it but the team has a very open access policy which appears to be a recent thing. Or is it because I am in the North East.
