I feel the same pain. It's pathetic showing. This lil dude Harris smacked your head to stop your dunk and Yao let him drove by for a 'And 1" to go ahead. Harris should be flying to the 1st row of stand. The best thing he could do should be 2 FT to tie the game.

Yao was trying to play defense without fouling. The call was a very soft call; there really was no foul. You don't hack someone when you are up by 2 in the closing seconds even to send a message. That just means you are not under control and are interested in getting your own payback rather than helping your team win.

Does it matter? The final minute, Yao should always raise his tall head and check the score. He should make sure it's either 2 FT or no foul. As simple as that. And he should know Harris would blow by him like wind when he switched. Yao's not a rookie anymore. Yao is only a "GENTLE LIKE NAPKIN" giant.

No, you're WRONG. You should play defense without fouling and if the guy makes the contested layup, so be it. Bailing out the offensive player with a hack is NOT the right thing to do. Sending Harris into the first row as retaliation is fine in the 3rd quarter, not late in the 4th quarter with a 2 point lead.

Again I repeat the call was an extraordinarily soft call.

I saw JVG at the Kroger the other day ... maybe if I ever see him again, I'll ask him if he can call Yao and tell him to whack Devin Harris and Jerry Stackhouse in the face.....

You cannot let someone to come into your house and backyard and try to rip your head off without retaliation.

I've never seen so much Yao bashing after he went for 30-15 on like 55+% shooting.

And you can bash yao all you want for not manning up on Harris, but the TEAM needs to man up on harris. And that never happened. Instead they yammed on us with 1.5 seconds left for no reason at all but to embarass us and prove to us once again they have NO RESPECT for us at all.

But yeah the rockets should continue to do nothing about it.

Every foul on Harris will look like a hard foul the guy is the worst flopper in the NBA.

Ok..so it was a soft foul if the foul looked soft. And it was also a soft foul even if it looked hard. So it was a soft foul no matter how it looked because Harris is a flopper. Therefore, Harris has been fouled 2000 times in the NBA and all the 2000 fouls were soft fouls.

Can you see the problem with your post now?

yeah soft fouls will always get soft calls.. he touched him so he fouled him..

you can never be a coach.. letting a guy earn 2 points from the line is always better than a layup.. didn't you see adelmans reaction to that play? if yao had the brains and the balls, once he heard the whistle, he should have did everything to not let harris make the shot.. in the replay, yao was actually trying his best not to hurt harris.. thats either stupid or cowardly..

and it's not just yao. the rest of the team doesn't have the "balls" to me (outside of tmac trying to talk crap to harris after the hard foul). but even tmac does not commit hard fouls when he should.

man i miss bob sura. he would have elbowed that fool to the side of his head and give him a black eye after harris tried to kill our 2 stars.

francis might have done the same. remember the way francis retaliated against amare?

i know its not just yao.. but yao and tmac should set an example.. i think when yao got fouled by harris he should have retaliated right there.. or tmac should have done something.. tmac's just all talk.. then the next play when harris drove, yao should have done the same thing.. put his arms across harris' arms and not let him score..

i was going to start another thread but we need someone like sura.. and sf is the closest thing we gonna get..

Stop passing the ball out of single coverage late in the 4th quarter of a close game to a bricking Alston. As much as I hate Alston, I blame you for those bricks. You say that you do not get the ball in your hands enough, but when you do, you simply refuse to take charge.

Yao is way too mechanic. He is playing like a robot. I hate those waiting for double teaming, passing out for a try type of play. That's JVG's play. I hate it especially when Rafer is on the receiving end. Yao needs to use his head. If you got Dirk on you, attack him!!! They had no mercy exploiting mismatch on your end. Yao has to look for his at the end of game in order for this team to close out. Relying on Tmac is not enough. I hope RA will tell it to Yao sooner than later.
Defensively, Yao stuck on any 6'6 guy is not a good thing. It's the same play Avery used against us two years. I would not be afraid to pull Yao out and put Scola if I were RA in that situation, especialy we had lead at time. Give him a breather, and put him back in at 2 minute mark.
