Why are people proposing that a professional player needs to perform acts of random violence when an opponent does something positive?

This is childish and idiotic. You think pushing someone down will make them less likely to come into the paint?

This was clear offensive foul. AI lower his shoulder and hit him right in his stomach. Yao are not allow to do that. Yao did the same against Nene last game vs Denver and as always an offensive foul was call on Yao.

We have to leave with that. NBA ref have never liked Yao so he have to be very careful and try to stay in the game and not foul out. Yao have been in the NBA for 7 years and nothing have change sometimes.

It's because that's the only way that these fools could imagine that they were a real man by talking tough on the internet with their keyboard (ROFL). They also have to use a lame screen name like 'Superstar' because they know they could never be anything close to being a superstar in any magnitude in their real life. These fools were never looked at as a real man in their life so they have to try to 'type' like a man with their keyboard. Sad story.

Nah, Yao is best when hes launching is soft hooks over his opponents. I dont really care if he's dunked on because back on the other end, they cant do **** about his fade-aways or hooks.

at the end of the day Yao had the last laugh he outsourced Nene something like 33-10 then hit the gamewinner right in Jefferson's face, and thats what counts the most.

Yao told me to let u know there is some spare change in the cupholder after you get through parking. :D.

Look you can make a these analogies about the "athelete" vs the skill player. I can tell you there have as many mistakes on the finished product vs raw project. Yao and Amare were in the same draft. 1 guy went 1st, one went 9th. Yao was the polished, finish international big while amare was the raw, super-atheletic pf. To this date, who has had the better career?

Point being is gms make mistakes on both. The draft itself is not exact. JJ Redick can't get off the bench. Kirk Hinrich got his job took. Lebron is the best player in the league and didn't go to college. In fact, Garnett,Kobe,James, and Howard didn't even smell college, but are 4 of the bes players in the game.

The issue isn't atheletes vs polished players, the issue is Yao's toughness. You don't have to be a athelete to be tough nor do you have to thug it either. Kobe isn't a thug, he's tough. Shaq isn't a thug, he's tough. Dreams wasn't a thug, and he was tough. Toughness is simply standing up for yourself. I remember against the pistons when Ben Wallace was looking over Duncans shoulder like he was copying homework. They fouled, pushed, leaned and everything. Even though he didn't shoot a high %, he battled and got to the ft line being aggressive. He didn't start fading away or looked scared. He manned up and got the job done in the final game for the trophy. BTW, you can always become a good shooter (dream,kg,kobe, jordan, karl malone) , but u can't ever become a great athelete.

Um wrong. I've seen players go into the paint on both of them. I've also seen Shaq completely squash someone who flopped on him and players still flop on him. Falling on a flopper or putting someone on their butt is not a deterrent. They still keep coming. Worry about Yao improving his defensive awareness or making his rotations quicker not whether he hits someone.

I would defend Yao, but he seriously needs to learn a thing or two from Deke. It would make his job so much easier.

Jeez do you guys even watch the NBA? Guys go at shaq, duncan, KG, whoever. You think these professional athletes think twice about taking it hard to the basket cause they might get hit? Its more of an honor if they dunk on good defensive guys like duncan or deke. They go even harder.
And if you have ever truly watched shaq over the years, he usually doesnt contest dunks that he cant stop. All the good defensive centers CONTEST dunks. All of them get posterized. Heck even the Dream got posterized by Kevin Johnson. Do you remember? It seems you guys watch too much AND1.

    Wait...

Did you just argue that Yao understands the game of basketball better than Michael Jordan?

Totally agree...Referees already call ticky tack fouls on him and he's not going to get the same kind treatment as other superstars, if he gets thrown out of game for roughing somebody up, which could start a fight. You all know the rest...and if we're lucky he might get suspended for a game up to 10 or 12, if it gets out of control. That's would be so great, if that happens to not have Yao Ming on the team, especially if in a stretch of tough games.

Also, what does Dike, Tim Duncan, Ben Wallace, and Alonzo Mourning do when people dunk on them?

Absolutely nothing....but play better defense next time. When was the last time you saw either of them foul someone really hard or push someone down. If one does decide to push someone down, after being dunked on...that's very poor sportsmanship, such as when Scola blocked Jermaine O'Neal's shot and stole the rebound in the Olympics and when Scola fell down JO intentionally step on him. That's very classless. So basically, if someone puts ankle breaking move on you and leaves you in your shoes and goes to hole for a big dunk or hits a clutch shot...and celebrates do you get made try to trip the guy up on the next play or foul him real hard. It's silly that stuff is for veterans who are known enforcers (often suspended) and silly young players.

Yao doesn't need do anything, but become a better player on the court. I could see him getting back at someone who tried to hurt him, but just for being dunked on is silly.

    No I didn't.
I was merely pointing out that since Yaos game is athletically challenged that I believe he is different from players that relied so much on their athletic ability.

And that even his Airness' game suffered when the body could not lift as before. His airness felt what it was like to play guys with more athletic ability than he had, and he not only just lost a step, but he just did not know how to defer to teammates, when in the past his team mates usually had to defer to him.

I felt all of the years of shouldering that scoring, made him look pathetic when he couldn't score so easily any longer.

I feel that Yao's game is not overly athletic and therefore the core strengths that he has will still be his strengths, much like sabonis and divac and Jabbar but unlike Olajuwon, even after he's aged in the league.

I feel that since his game is not entirely built on athleticism yet on his height that he will still be a force in the later years of his career.

WHO HAS BEEN TAUGHT MORE OF HIS LIFE TO BE A TEAM PLAYER?
    YAO MING.
Only after Jordan relied on his team mates and not always on his athleticisn did he begin his dynasty run on rings.

Duncan gets posterized often, check out youtube. You know why? Cause he plays defense. I know its a big thing in AND1 not to get punked with a facial, but when you are trying to win games, you look more like a punk for not challenging shots.

So AM I GETTING THIS RIGHT LEEBIGEZ

So KG never won any thing until he had superstars around him so he was soft right? he still is?

Kobe has not won without Shaq, so his toughness is at stake there?

Lebron has not won a ring, so his toughness was his downfall maybe?

Howard hasn't won anything but a dunk contest, so he's tough when it comes to dunking, but he doesn't dunk enough yet for a ring however.

Shaq was tough and still is at times but how many times did he hit the TOUGH free throws and pass out to Horry and Kobe and Fisher to hit the tough shots? he wasn't tough enough all of the time I guess?

Yao blocked Shaq what 2 times in a row on his first two plays against Shaq as well as scored so tell me that Shaq didn't think he was pretty dam tough.

MY QUESTION TO YOU IS IF MOST PLAYERS AREN"T AS POLISHED AS YAO WHEN THEY COME IN THE LEAGUE THEN WHY NOT? ARE THEY NOT TOUGH ENOUGH TO HAVE THE WORK ETHIC AND STUDY HABITS THAT YAO HAS HAD AND THE DETERMINATION AND PRIDE?

MAYBE since neither Yao or Amare has won a ring neither on of them is better and both are just FAILURES. Is that fair? It is the ultimate unattained goal. Is Amare not tough enough to win it all either?

DREAM called and said that I should donate that change to some terrorist organization. I think I'll give it to the bbs instead.

Based on team achievement: Amare (when he had Nash, Shawn Marion, Quentin Richardson, Joe Johnson, Leandro Barbosa with him in that 04-05 team).

Based on individual achievement: Yao Ming.

What do you have to argue against it?

Not by no name scrubs. Yao and TD are not even in the same sentence . Yao is still a second round virgin.

Its been 6 years. He wont change, it will only get worse as he gets older and slower (yea slower).
