It's always worrying when Yao complain of soreness on his legs based on his history. I hope Yao will play through this season without any scary surprises.

Last year he had a stress fracture in his left foot. It's his right foot that is sore. Yao also missed a game earlier this season for precautionary reasons because of a sore right foot. He's played 35-40 games since then with no ill effects. I don't think this will be serious either. I think it's more because this is the 2nd night of a back to back. This will be the last time we play back to back games this season so Yao's foot should be getting adequate rest from here on out.

Thanks for letting me know that. Do you know if they are planning to do an MRI as well?

That sounds pretty reasonable to me. Too much concern over seeding and not enough over our veterans being rested for the first round.

The two days off will be very beneficial. If we can close out this game with the warriors, Yao will have 3 days rest.

I think everyone is just being cautious. Yao will be fine.

man if yao is injured in a major way, i'll be freakin' pissed. that will just confirm a curse is on this team.

    hopefully yao is ok.

I hope Clutch will try to get to hold of the Rockets after the game to find out what is really happening.

basically resting him for the playoffs.......they can't say straight up he is resting so they have to find an excuse with a sore foot

You might be right about that, and it would make perfect sense.

Why not? We're not the New England Patriots. It would be much more convenient for the team to say that they're resting their best player who also has happened to have suffered season ending injuries in his lower body the last 3 seasons than to say he is feeling pain in his right foot.

on sr610 they mentioned yao is getting some more tests tomorrow when they get back to houston.

i was thinking (and still believe) it's just caution. but to take more tests on saturday makes me feel just a little bit uneasy.

Better to get it done and find out if a problem exists or not. A negative X-Ray isn't of much value.
    Thanks.

This is all Adelman's fault, he's been playing Yao for entire quarters and half straight in recent games. When you played tired your more susceptible to serious injury.
