before we get too bummed, why dont we wait for the official word on the length of time it will take? I fully beleive mattj is giving us the scoop that Yao wont play tonight, he should know since he works for the Rockets flagship station that broadcasts the games (thats for you pryuen and the other guy that doubts his veracity)...but we simply dont know how serious it really is yet....lets not all go CHicken Little just yet.... OK?
uuummm....I was referring to the tv broadcast with Bill and Clyde. but yes...Matt J does do the radio pregame show... huh....
NBA TV just reported Yao out for 10 days to 2 weeks for a toe infection. Complemented about Yao being tough and not missing many games.
Just reported : On NBA TV just now, Yao has infection on his toe...will miss 1 week to 10 days - Rockets are worried
just reported on the Rockets pregame show. Bill: " We dont know how long Yao will be out, Keith Jones is being tightlipped about it right now" [Paraphrased] If the guys with the ROckets doing the pregame/game dont knowyet how long, I dont see how NBATv could know already.
He spoke directly with JVG. Also said JVG is expecting a "turn-back the clock performance" from Deke.
Apparently, Frank Isola spoke with Jeff Van Gundy and reported that the Rockets expect Yao to be out for a week to ten days.
This sucks. Get well fast, big fella. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...lug=ap-rockets-yaosidelined&prov=ap&type=lgns
Yao should have used Neospirin on his Toe when the toenail came out!!!!! You dont need a trainer to tell you that.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...lug=ap-rockets-yaosidelined&prov=ap&type=lgns Lakers coach Phil Jackson said Yao's absence was "a disappointment for our fans." When Lakers forward Lamar Odom was told Yao wouldn't be playing, he replied: "Good. This is sports, right?" Odom went on to say he'd be happy facing the San Francisco Giants without Barry Bonds and the Indianapolis Colts without Peyton Manning.
Without Yao, if TMac can stay healthy: Sun, Dec 18 at LA Lakers 9:30 pm LOSS Wed, Dec 21 Toronto 8:30 pm WIN Fri, Dec 23 at Denver 9:00 pm LOSS Tue, Dec 27 Utah 8:30 pm LOSS Wed, Dec 28 at New Orl/OKC 8:00 pm WIN We will be at 11-16 when Yao returns. I was expecting us to break even by the end of 05. Now we will have to wait until early Feb. Damn, we will be lucky to get in as a 7th or 8th seed.
