They obviously want much more. I found these in another thread: "Hit somebody hard on the court so that the guy would be put on the injuried list for at least 3 month" "Be caught with possessing drugs" "Be caught with Speeding" (what's that to do with playing basketball anyway?) Rockets fans are hard to be pleased.
That's what Yao needs to do. Watch a replay of it over and over. He needs to understand that opposing coaches in the NBA want him out of commission. Thugs do this stuff all the time in the NBA curry favor with their coaches. Yao needs to change his attitude quickly. This is only his non-shooting elbow. He'll play.
I can't believe you dudes keep taking this clown, jediknight94595 seriously. He spends all off-season frolicking around with his Darth Vader mask and cape, shoving light sabers up his worn-out piehole, only to come out each season to b*tch and moan like the attention w**** he is.
One word. Sick, you are Sick, you need help. That means you. young J------Kn------. The force is no where close to you on this one.
Check this, Yao knows he will get smack when he plays here, so Don't worry, he will be ready next Tue. http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?threadid=40082
Is there any status update on Yao Ming and his elbow? FSN said: So did he go through the workout on Saturday?
That's JVG and PE's responsibility to teach/coach YM how to fight back. Did PE ever punish rookies before?
Yao will not change his mentality as you guys wantted, he has his own thinking. He is not like most other NBA players. Like him or not, he will be like that for a long time. If you want a Shaq, go get Shaq. No matter how you want to convert him into a Sahq, sorry, there is no way! That's the reality.
The pain of losing will change him. Then, he'll start fighting back. We've seen his fire in the Asian Games (vs Japan), and Olympics. He has it when he wants to show it. If he doesn't, he'll just keep getting pushed around. Just wait until the next time we meet SA (Radoslav Nesterovic).
I agree. Yao doesn't need to change his mentality to be more assertive. He just needs to bring his true feelings out. He showed plenty of fire and determination during the Olympics. And I don't believe in this "He only cares about the Chinese national team. He'll never be like that for the Rockets" argument. The guy is a competitor. Sure the CNT will be more meaningful to him, but that doesn't mean that he can't play his heart out for the Rockets too. I really believe that as he gets more comfortable with playing in the NBA and having guys counting on him to a leader (even if T-Mac is the best player on the team, Yao will still be counted on to deliver some kind of leadership, by example if nothing else, if this team is going to win a championship) Yao will develop into something special. If Yao had never showed the kind of emotion and determination that he does in international competition, then I truly would wonder if he's got what it takes to be a championship caliber big man. But since I have seen him treat the game of basketball as so much more than a job, then I'm confident that he will succeed in this game. When you have the talent and drive, it's only a matter of time.
What, no more posts to this by members past #12000 and with less than 100 posts? This can't be true. Anyway... I thought it was funny how on NBA.com's preview of tonight's game, they had links to Blazers and Knicks links from the HOU-DET game: http://www.nba.com/games/20041102/HOUDET/preview.html (and a BUMP)
