Everyone has their weakness...as does Yao, and the team has to help him develop his weakness into a positive...

Given that, Can we trade his butterfinger hands for Amare's Hands? :D

Yao will stay in Houston forever and JVG will be gone for sure if we don't advance.

Yao won't go anywhere, but assistant coach Gundy needs to go. He won't use Yao right, and frankly his offense is too stale for this NBA.

His stubborn tactics are coming back to bite him in the behind and he's being exposed. They can't capitalize on Utah even when they make mistakes.

I think someone here said it, different players, same coach, same results.

dude its just something worse then that; he needs to lay down the crack pipe.

But there is a possibility JVG will be gone, not Yao.

As a YOF, I can really see in the future Yao being traded, like all great centers have been. He will not be rocket for life. I can see him retiring maybe at 32, and he will rather go back to China then to backup Oden.

A possibility that JVG will be gone? Are you serious? It's a near certainty short of reaching the Western Conference Finals. The style that this team plays is (i) boring, (ii) not suited for the talent, and (iii) reaching its ceiling which is a very good team but not a championship one. There is considerable coaching talent available, and I am sure that Les is willing to roll the dice with someone else who will institute an offense that will move Yao to the high post to (a) let him shoot face up jumpers and (b) open up the lane for TMac to drive to the hole.

Personally, I think they'd both go to New York. Thats where Stern wanted them both from the start.

Yes! I am a Rockets Fan.
I wonder if there is anything good to be gained by us advancing to the next round?
I pose this question because without a downfall from grace I douby LES will do much about the coach or about getting us the players we need. We have two players who can score, we need five or six players who can score, if we ARE GOING TO COMPETE AND CHALLENGE FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP.
wE MUST CHANGE THE WAY WE PLAY, to do this we are going to need a different coaching team. JVG is a good defensive coach and could be rehired for that department but a coach with a fresh way of using the players is needed, especially one who is not afraid to develop the younger talented players.

How silly!!! When the next exciting player comes along fans will just want to make him their hero and the cycle will just start all over again.
That the way it has been right from the start of all sports. There is no way not to like favorit players.

This is complete crap! Trade Yao? Ya right.... I have been a in full support for Van Gundy, but do agree if no win 7 then changes do need to be made...I think a better thread would be T-Mac or Van Gundy..We were within 1 point last night and again T-Mac the jump shooter shows up when we needed T-Mac to the rack. That's what pissed me off. If he would have just driven to the basket more he could have gotten fouled for second chance points. If he thinks taking over a game means putting up jumpers in the last few mins. then this series is over. T-Mac drive to the damn basket!!!!!!
