If Van Gundy stays, I have to think that he'll demand we get rid of Yao. Did you see him pull Yao for considerable stretches in the 2nd half? He's lost all faith in Yao on defense, the guy is killing us. And it's hard to blame Van Gundy.

On the other hand, it's hard to believe that Les Alexander would dump Yao with the amount of money he's invested/made from the guy. But from a basketball perspective, it's becoming clear that Yao will never be anything more than a good but not great center. He doesn't have the attitude or ability to take over games because of his lack of presence on defense. If Yao stays, we'll can Van Gundy and hire someone who is willing to put up with a 4 man defense.

yao will never be traded - a decent center is hard to find in this league, let alone an allstar nearing superstar level.

It's jVG put Yao in when we were behind by 1. That's a bad move. when game was tight, you should not put your biggest hole for them to attack.

Let's trade him before other teams realize his faults. Maybe we can squeeze Mikki Moore and a second rounder from the Nets.

    I hope you are joking

Yao isn't going anywhere...and he shouldn't...but if we lose game 7, JVG has got to go...and I've been pro-JVG this whole time

Perhaps our team will respond to someone with more fire...because our players sure don't have any.

But when we win game 7, his job will be deservedly secure. Utah is a good team

I bet we can get the whole starting lineup minus Kobe Bryant for Yao

Lamar Odom, Smush Parker, Luke Walton, Kwame Brown > Yao Ming in terms of numbers

    Yao will never leave Houston!

    this thread is stupid

firing Gundy ok, but trading one of our franchise players who brings more cash than Kobe and Tmac together is plain out dumb!

Superstar level?? Yao will never amount to anything in this league. If he were African American and didn't have his marketing value, no one would complain about trading the guy. He doesn't hustle, he doesn't show heart, and he plays worse defense than Karl Malone's bronze statue.

this is all ridiculous. trade yao? are you out of your mind? for odom even???? odom's not exactly known for getting the most out of his potential either.....

I can count the number of people I would even think about trading yao on one hand. lebron? sure. anyone else, don't think they would help us.

yao has a tough time matching up with utah because they have one big man who can shoot the 3 and the other is a quick powerful all star with range. any other playoff team would be a better match up in that regard.

this is the same player who was getting consideration for MVP before breaking his leg.
