Dude, You are now one of my favorite posters here (especially in the GARM). But you shouldn't be surprised - look at the 2nd line of my sig!
What are you talking about? I'm well known in these parts for being a hater towards Grumpy. And I sure as hell am not going to be happy when this team gets blown apart.
Roc Paint, you may hate Van Gundy but if you loved Rudy like I do than Steve Francis behavior should piss you off more than anyone because this is the very type of advantage-taking behavior he showed to Rudy and which, imo, was why he was let go.
If you say so...I don't know if I'd call not giving your best for a boss you hate being 'heartless' however. Since we're so fond of making comparisons to real world jobs today - it would be comparable to slacking off because you hate your job. Not exactly the same as heartless. They played like that before he called them heartless too. They should be playing hard for themselves anyway, not for their coach. If these people hate their jobs, they need to be traded.
He is busy in Detroit at the momment. Bottom line is that I am going to start blaming Les and carring less as the days go by in Rocket Land.
One thing that occurs to me about 'heart' is this: Players with heart play to win. Not for their coach, not for the money, and not because it fits into their schedule. Because of their heart. Players without heart find reasons to justify losing, players with it find ways to win. So if they played crappy because they donlt like JVG questioning their heart, yes, they proved his point. I ahte Michael Jordan and Larry Bird with an undying passion, but admit they had 'heart'. Can you picture either of them mailing in a game because their coach had criticized them? Me neither.
So MacB, is it their job or is it a game? In other threads you seemed to indicate it was a job. If you are unhappy in your job, and don't give 100 percent as a result, do you not have 'heart'? I'd like to see a quote where one of Jordan's or Bird's coaches called them heartless. You know, it is possible that the Rockets just aren't as good as Sacramento, isn't it? Or does it have to be that they're 'heartless'? Sacramento went and won at SA the next night - was Poppovich calling the Spurs heartless after that one?
so, its the same thing with yao haters, and steve haters. Whenever the team does weel, yao gets credit, whenever the team does bad, steve gets credit for the loss.
