Talking about how he got misunderstood when he said "missing the Olympic would be my biggest disappointment" Also talked about how when Olympic began, people would stop wars and be friends for few days for the sports. But now days people uses Olympic as a political tool to protest in their interest.
usually they put up their interviews online. should be up in the next two days i hope edit: should be up by tomorrow, cuz wednesday's stuff is up now http://www.npr.org/templates/archives/rundown_archive_hub.php
Man, Yao is very intelligent and political savvy, especially the way he answered the last question. I can't be more proud of him!
Yao won't be able to bring China an Olympic basketball medal but he might if he become the head of CNT operation.
whoa. i dont know if youre kidding or not but wouldnt that be something. yao has always been a good natured man. very loyal to his country. very intelligent. how would the world respond to an international athlete being the leader of the most populated country in the world? how would china feel about having a president would would have lived about 10 or 15 years (depends how long his career is) in a democracy? i think hed take the battier aproach to politics and say that he would rather just help people in other ways.
The interview is up online if you want to hear it: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=90483768
Heard this interview on the radio yesterday. Yao is a very smart guy. He handled the questions really well.
