But seriously, Yao has always appeared to me to be a very mechanical learner, a disciplined student who plays by the book, and therefore prone to go to extemes when he's told to adjust his playing. It's ridiculous to say somebody is too smart when he's the slower among the bunch in adjusting to a new system.

Also, I hope this is not news to you, being over-analytical never equates being smart. In many cases, it's the sign of the opposite.

there was a reason why i said " but sometimes he mighta been TOO smart", which means i dont think it's wise for him to burn himself out with all those mental burdens. all he needs to do is just to go to the court and play, and never gives a rat's ass if the player he plays against now has beaten him badly in their last encounter. the less he worries about it, the better it would be for him and for the team.

you could say Yao's post moves are robotic, but that does not justify calling him a machanical learner ONLY. sometimes i have the feeling that Yao's problem is he always wanted to make everyone around him happy, coaches, teammates, that's where i meant he thinks TOO much. it's hard to please everyone, Yao, just be urself and win those games for us.

We have to play them three more times this season. We are in the same conference division does not matter. There is pretty good chance that we are going to play them in the playoff.

yao is just not a good matchup against the jazz. boozer's eyes light up whenever yao is on him and he gets a free 2 points. im confident adelman will know to limit yao's minutes against the jazz. scola and hayes worked very well together.

    Yao should learn from Deke.

Yao is a step slow that's why he leave a big space to d his man most of time. But for these players like Boozer who can hit mid jump constently, Yao should step closer to D and take the risk they drive to pass him, He can do it like Deke follow the player and try to block from behind and our other players need to help him D.

In this way, at least we still have chance to block or stop they score, otherwise, players like boozer will always score. Which one you choose? Answer is simple.

bringing yao out on okur makes it that much easier for deron to blow past any of our point guards and score in the paint.... i say let yao tire boozer down some because regardless of how quick he is it isnt easy to score on 7'6 muscle whereas it might be much easier to score on 6'9 or 6'10 where he is just as strong if not stronger and quicker

Dan Patrick is smoking weed. He said on the Charlie Paulilo show that Yao was the 2nd or 3rd best center in the league. What a dumb B#$*@!

Why do people have to concern themselves so much with these meaningless "rankings" and personal opinions?

So Yao is #1 center. Ok. so what? That still doesn't make him pass the first round.

If Duncan is considered for the center position, then Yao has to be at most #2 to me.

Yao isn't the best center in the league. Just cuz he plays on the Rockets, that doesn't make him the best center.

No, he's the best center in the league because there aren't any other centers that play as well as he does.

You know Deke can't guard Boozer either, right?

So does being impulsive equate to being extremely intelligent? Damn... Kobe must be one hell of a dumb ass because he over analyzes everything that he does to the smallest detail. ;)

yao is probably the SLOWEST center in the league. boozer can burn him easily or just shoot over him. whenever boozer gets the ball, its 2 points. i'm hoping adelman does the right thing and limits yao's minutes whenever we play the jazz.
