As we all know, 18-20 point leads don't last long/mean much in the era of the 24 second shot clock [/Bullard]..

On that night, Bullard was absolutely right, unfortunately.

But the 24 second shot clock should be no match against Yao ...who is 90 inches tall. 90 is almost 4x as much as 24. Yao had no excuse to lose that 20 point lead.

LOL - (a) I'm not bald, (b) not from New York - however I certainly feel like I haven't slept in 17 years (that's what kids do to ya)!

If you guys are wondering JVG's opinion - You guys should have heard JVG lambasting Jeremy from Sports Radio 610 regarding the whole 20/10 thing when Jeremy asked JVG about Yao hitting the 20/10 mark. I don't know if that's recorded somewhere but JVG more or less was ridiculing the idea that if hypothetically someone was at 19.9/9.9 is suddenly transformed when they reach 20/10. It was pretty funny.

Indeed! While he's destroying the pesky 24 second shot clock, he should also fix the hole in the ozone layer.

If this holds for next year, Yao will be at 23 pts and 12 reb per game.

I've always loved your sig, dude!

I had a hard time buying into it 100% but I always wanted to beleive it. But now, I'm thinking Yao to KG comparisons are pretty good. Yes, they got different type of games but Yao could become as dominant as KG in his own way.

I hope by when you say in his own way you mean he's putting up these numbers and leading us to victory. KG, sure he puts up great numbers but I don't think he's dominant in any way shape or form. He doesn't have the ability to lead his team to the promised land. That's no knock on KG but when I hear dominant I'm thinkin along the lines of Hakeem in 94.

    This is a funny response.

In the past, everybody LITTERALLY lambasted Shawn786 for suggesting a comparison to KG. ...saying Yao will NEVER live up to the likes of KG. And now your response suggests that simply matching KG's status isn't good enough. :D

Well, I'll say this. Its a nice problem to have.

What I'm trying to say is if Yao keeps playing like this (willing us to victory, puting up huge numbers) he may possibly be better than KG soon. Yes I said it.

Not to mention, Yao would average about 6 assists a game if certain Rockets (who will remain nameless) would knock down a shot every once in a while!!

Yea, you had that sig for like 3 yrs now? I commend you for being one of the few people on this board who have such trust in Yao's development and using KG's stats as guide line of becoming a star...thats very brave of you despite what other people might think. And if Yao ever becomes a KG type player(and why not?), its even more sweeter to know that you were here all along.

That is funny, and he's absolutely right. But there's still a certain prestige attached to being in the 20/10 club, warranted or not, so I'm happy for Yao if he gets there.

It's like, there's a bigger difference between 39 and 40 points than 38 and 39, in the eyes of the media. It doesn't make sense, but that's how it is.

SAR and Vin Baker were both members of the 20/10 club for a season. It takes consistancy to be refered to as a great player. If yao keeps this up for few more years, he will then truly be a great player.

KG still has the edge in being able to play more mins so he could help his team in longer stretch of time.

But you can also make a case that Yao has been able to put up almost identical statistics with less playing time.
