    the reason our record was so good 2 years ago is because of illegal defense. we abused that rule more than any other team. i also believe that was the year when you couldnt touch a guard without getting called for a foul.

    how is yao getting more hype than amare? that's bs. amare is the most hyped player right now. amare is the only rookie to have his own nba league pass commercial highlight. amare would have had his own shoe deal already only, his mother told him to hold out for more and then when they gave her what she wanted, she told the agent to go back and ask for more money in the endorsement deal, it frustrated the agent so much that he decided to quit cause she kept on asking for more $$$. this guy would have had way more commercial deals than yao if he only didn't ask for too much.

    yao=the most scrutinized rookie.
    amare=the most hyped rookie
    nene=the most underrated rookie.

    I was watching some of the Suns/Nuggets on DirecTv and the announcer paused, said it was close and would go with the one that went to the playoffs...

    Both have leveled off, but again, YAO SHOULD get it...

    Spiral, I hope you didn't read my post understanding that Yao gets more hype...what i am saying is all the HATERS are suggesting that HYPE is whats giving Yao an edge, when the fact is he deserves every bit of praise he has received.

    T-Man, you make a valid point about Amare fearlessness and drive, however in comparison with Yao, i do not think we can equate that with no heart or desire...

    in fact, i think Yao has an abundance of it...
    ie. How many times have we seen Yao make a mistake on one end of the court, and then come down the court, do that spin move on the baseline and flush it down two-handed

    ie. Yao is huge in making free throws late in the game, his release is money...that shows heart

    ie. Yao has a humility where he acknowledges he makes a mistake (almost to a fault) and is willing to improve. This is desire.

    *Amare however, has not shown the desire and heart to improve his game...this is not something new, he has been awfully mediocre since february...but people still remember his game as a dunking machine from the first half of the season...the thing is players have figured him out...the dude, can only go right...he can't shoot worth ****...and he is completely lost on defense, the latter being his worst characteristic IMO...all this while being covered by one defender...no team in the league worries in the locker room about what they are going to do with Amare at the beginning of the game....no one puts 2-3 guys on him as a strategy to contain....Amare doesn't have the responsibility on defence that a Center does to not only guard his own man, but to protect the basket from whoever dares enter...
