Yao needs to work on his 3-pt shot

I'm not advocating Yao becoming a 3-pt shooter (like Wang). I'm just saying if teams start respecting his 3-pt shot, then it may make it easier for Yao get a low post position.

Besides, if Yao stops practicing his 3, he may lose that aspect of his arsenal. Sabonis used to be a decent 3-pt shooter as well. (Still is, except he doesn't take as much anymore)

Make a few plays with Yao taking a 3-pointer. I'm sure Yao is more disciplined than EG to avoid parking his azz on the 3-point line.

Exactly! No more perimeter softies. We need to bang it inside every play to taylor and Yao.

The whole team needs to learn how to make half court shots, then we can just jack it up from half court and not have to run any plays....

Post players should be under the basket, not on the three point line.

Personally, I'm also afraid Yao will lose with long range touch. I think it's insane to suggest having a long range shot makes Yao a worse player. I've wondered why Yao doesn't shoot the ball when his defender sags off of him at the top of the key. Why not get your defender to respect your inside and outside game. Obviously, everyone wants to see his post game improve, but I think there's a real rush to jam Yao into a specific conventional role in the NBA as just a post player. The reason Nowitzski is so good is because he's versatile.

Rudy has Eddie spend time on the 3 point line because he still doesn't have the body to bang down low. However, if you put Yao 22 feet from the basket when the ball is being shot, you turn him into Matt Bullard. I liked Bull, but I think Yao can do a little more for us. Let him create havoc down low.

Yes.i am agree with your opinion. In china many people also said Yao should strengthen
his upper strength to hold ball steadily.Yao's upper body surely
very mistake because CBA isnot as fury as NBA.But Yao's outside
    shoot was also so exactly:)

im all for yao trying for an outside jumper from maybe 8-12 feet, but ive seen him try it this season only to get blocked... this is the usa our players are stronger and taller and play a lot more aggresive defense than those in the cba.
