great how josh howard was being called for moving picks against phoenix. if only the officials called those on dallas during the houston series.
Yao is good, but i think he can play better! I dont trade Yao! Bring Jason Kidd, and Yao will play better!
says here that yao wont be going back to china in the offseason...hopefully he'll be able to improve his game now, or at least just relax http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2057268
i wouldnt invest in kidd. we need rebounders and 3 pt shooters. only if the addition is a guaranteed championship. even then, i dont want the rockets to turn into the lakers...
I've been here since the start... don't really post unless i REALLY have something to say. Usuually come here to read the different national media on the rockets.
How is Hakeem supposed to teach Yao raw athleticism? Hakeem was an athletic freak of nature...a small forward trapped in a center's body. His moves in the post depended heavily on extremely quick footwork, something that Yao will never have. There's really no way Hakeem would be able to teach Yao anything he doesn't already know. You'll need someone with a body type similar to Yao's in order to have any kind of effect: Deke was able to teach Yao a thing or two about timing his blocks toward the end of the season. Someone like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would be much more effective at teaching Yao than Hakeem.
yao not going back at all this summer? he's probably gonna head back for the 23rd FIBA-Asia Championship for Men to qualify for the 2006 world championship. Sept 8 - Sept 16
if hakeem can teach shaq how to score outside of dunking then hakeem can teach yao how to take advantage of defenders. of course yao will never be as quick as hakeem but they really need to put him through some agility training. at least to keep him from falling down. unless he's just clumsy and there is nothing they can do about that. if that's the case then oh well. that sucks. brign in kareem then. i dont think ewing can do anything for yao. i think it's just a position that an old friend (van gundy) offered him.
