This thread itself has more meaning and logic than all those other Yao threads combined.

It's unfair to attribute yesterday's failure to Yao. as a matter of fact, no center can score a little more than 8 points when he's twisted by KG. Yao should have done a little bit better if he had not run out his energy after the first 3 games. 39mins/game, what a long time! it's difficult for a guy to rush himself 39mins on the court, especially for a 7-6 guy. Why not have yao a little bit more time to rest? No, we have to keep him on court because we have no real center other than him. Dorsey may be the answer to the center problem but, somehow, adelman seems to forget that guy. Yes, it's true that it's a gamble to put a heavy burden on a rookie's shoulder, but adelman should come up with a better idea to save yao some rest time.

If ric is too old to think of any new idea, I suggest one right here. Signing Deke? but it isn't gonna be a long term run as deke has reached his 43rd year of his life. Plus, no one can guarantee that such a antique can still do as well as he did last season. And we don't have salary space to sign a free center, besides, no free center is able to contribute more than dorsey can. Then, the only way left to upgrade our center position is just a trade.

I still love steve francis but i'm afraid it's time to say bye to him, and luther head seems to have lost his role in houston. maybe leaving houston is a good choice for them. we may trade them to denver for mcdyess who has claimed he isn't gonna join the nuggets. Houston is an ideal destination for that veteran who has a ring, and his experiences for playoffs and finals are gonna help us a lot. Maybe he has to lose part of his salary but he gotta knows which values more:two million dollars and a championship ring.

Nice to have a generally positive thread.

Fronting Yao stops his production, but once the rest of the team realizes what they have to do, which is cut to the basket for an open layup since the opposing center and Yao aren't in the lane, we will destroy that strategy. As for Yao v. Perkins, it was just a freakishly bad shooting night. He just couldn't get anything to fall. Probably just shot confidence which as any athlete knows will come and go from game to game.

He is one of the most consistent centers in the game. You don't average 22 and 10 without being so. Not one of the greatest of all times (Hakeem would eat his lunch) but still one of the best if not the best now.

my bad, i was referring to those who said he 'Always' choked, forgot to add that in.

I know he played horrible yesterday, i watched all painful 48 minutes of it, but it was quite uncharacteristic of yao. Yeh he has bad games, but the amount of good games he has outweighs his bad nights completely.

I admit that he sucked the mother of sucks last night, but all this crap about how he's total garbage and nothing but a liability is just plain stupid

tbh we should trade yao ASAP since hes gettin old, slow. i gotta say that he would neverh be as good as 2006 b4 his 1st injury. i kno many ppl luv yao, hes rly a nice guy, but admit the truth that we cant win the champion with yao and his poor def, inconsistnat offence, noob dunk etc. get rid of him and get a new tough C plus a decent pg, we'll be fine.

It's more likely that Yao will go 10/6 with 2 missed dunks, 4TOs, and 5 fouls. Oh yeah, he'll also fall down 4 times.

Yao is a guy who could fall down awkwardly being crossed by a guard, miss a point blank dunk, lose a rebound right in front of him.

His is also a guy who could block you twice in the same possession, hit several beautiful 15ft jump hook or fadeaway in your grill, run the floor, dribble behind the back and dunk.

Yao could play a great game, dominating at both ends and still tell you what he could have done better. He could play a pissed poor game looking worse than Shawn Bradley, and than loath himself afterward.

We have watched Yao enough by now to know what he can do and what he can't do. So yeah, we just need to chill.

Apparently you won't find them here.

Sometimes I feel like we hate our players more than Jazz fans. We give our players the Kwame Brown treatment.

Thank god Luther Head didn't play last night. His turnover would have been blown to out of this world proportions.

this even worse :( i wonder why yao is so easy to fall down all the time from his rookie yr til now. hes way stronger than b4 but still rollin on the floor every game.

As a star player, this kinda critisism is expected. As fans, we also have a right to critisize but also we hope our star player redeem himself from that bad game and have a good game. i hope Yao plays well tomorrow against the Blazers. Not only Yao but the whole team must do well in that game. Lets have some faith in our players and watch them win tonight ;)

Yeah. Please! Please trade Yao to LA or NY if you were the manager. I can't wait to see Yao playing against Houston and kiss your a**, and to hear you cry like a baby:"Yao belongs to Houston...".

Be a pro, man. Don't you realize why Yao stayed in the paint when Perkins was shooting like an allstar? Because that's just 419! You won't see Perkins make three jump shoots in a row ever again in your entire life.

Thanks to God we have a smart center that didn't get mad just because a guy like Perkins had a weird night. If Yao did follow Perkins all night, you would see a hell lot more dunks of KG and everyone else.

Again, please, if anyone is watching, trade Yao to LA, NY, or any other city. Just stay away from these irrational Houston fans, they are simply dangerous to any player that loves them, and plays for them!

I obviously don't know the answer to that, but I would guess it is a general gameplan for Yao to not stray too far from the paint. For Boston specifically, they were probably thinking, that if you have to give up something, you give up perimeter shooting from Rondo and Perkins.
