What's interesting is how this thread has managed to make it to 3 pages without a single mention of firing JVG.

    Edit: make that 4.

You didn't stir any fire. It's an article, and I always appreciate your translations. I think some people are freaking out because it's been suggested by American media and many here that it's time to seriously build around Yao Ming.

And it is, but many of us don't even want to get into it because so many people here are going to freak out. There will be numerous threads here about it in the coming months and the debate will by sidetracked by the usual suspects - and with a couple of guys showing up with less than than 10 posts in the same thread (hmm) sounding identically sophomoric.

We all love T-Mac and want him here. We all pray he get's healthy. But Yao's the guy we need to build around now and that's never been the case before.

I don't see Yao ever publically lobbying for players (like T-Mac did for Stro and Stoudemire - yeah Rocket River most superstars do that) but I do see him being more vocal about the direction of the team. That's the job that comes with his contract next season.

Moochie did that all the time. :) Just teasing. ;)

Well, Yao has a good chance to become the leader of this team. Even if he doesn't, he is still the foundation of the team for a long time. So I don't think it's a big deal. :)

    Kobe ruggedness....LOL

Did it lead him to the playoffs last year?

Tmac is an introvert. So what if he isnt all extra emotional. Its funny people mistake emotionalism for leadership. I guess thats why Francis is with his 3rd team now.

hrmmm?? Sorry I'm late responding to this, but what point in time are you talking about??

Steve F. certainly did skip a team flight while he was a Houston Rocket...but I digress...

lol that's why I had the ironman in "". People usually call Kobe rugged, and I guess he is, especially this season. No, it did not lead him the playoffs, but just to be fair, he doesn't have the team the Rockets do.

But yeah, it is sad that people mix emotionalism and leadership up.

This is becoming a popular phrase around here, but, I can't wait 'till next season.

That's what I was wondering. The Chinese sports media and credibility don't go hand in hand.
