Thinking about this bums me out, but we can still win a championship with Dwight, so it doesn't really bother me.
Here's my fan made video of Ron, tmac, and yao. Back when i was very high on this team with the signing of ron artest. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/tEwgFaFczQc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
it's missing that early sequence in the first meeting against Shaq and the Lakers. He blocks Shaq, runs down the court to post up, then does a spin move on him for an easy two.
I like how even to this day Yao highlight videos are littered with comments on how unimpressive the man was doing the things he did, because anyone 7'6" can't help but out-perform everyone in the low-post shorter and lighter than him... So he could make his free-throws at an 80+ percentage, and generally shoot the ball well... Manute Bol used to step out for threes, big deal.. Rik smits had a jumpshot, right...? All NBA players should be able to do that, from 5'9"-7'7"... If Yao weren't so tall he wouldn't be more than a footnote in the NBA... It's like these people are blissfully unaware of the proud idiocy they're presenting with these comments...
don't think there will be any more yao like players coming from china anytime soon. quite a lot of them turned out to be busts... especially yi jianlian. gods he was so freaking awful. I don't even know how he played so awful with his height and athleticism.
all top 5 centers ever are top 10 players of all-time(Kareem, Russell, Wilt, Shaq, Hakeem), he was never on that level and a tad below Robinson, Ewing, Sabonis, Malone.
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/--ExBV_xkEU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> That play started around 8:50.
Top 10-15 maybe if he were healthy most of his career. We will never know but he was on his way to being one of the greats before his injuries got in the way.
the ruling party treates every one of their citizens like slave and yao was no exception , they overplaying him so the head of the sports administration can meet performance goals and be promoted to higher ranking and gain more power to earn off the table money through corruption.
There're a couple decent ones upcoming. There's one great prospect emerging in China, and we may see him in NBA lottery in a 2-5 years.
He would be a GREAT backup center on this team, he could still give us 10-20 per night. He is only 32, right? Sign him to a vet minimum come on DM, get r done ! DD
Wow, Yao's Dad is pretty big too. He was only a bit shorter than Shaq and his Mum was damn tall too. That's one big family.
Dang I miss having someone on our team having a post game, but if Dwight can learn a few moves and get his athleticism back we should be ok. I ended up watching Dwight's top career plays and wow he was a lot faster. I'm sure he will get close to that during the season.
