The thing is RIGHT NOW this second, we can make a decent bet but don't truly know if the James Harden era will be any better either. Historically, yes similar players at Harden's size are healthier and more dependable. But there's always some unfortunate chance he might be a Gilbert Arenas, Grant Hill type flameout too. I've always advocated to give Yao the "Rik Smits" reduced minutes treatment. I've even said it about Asik. DEFINITELY the SUPER BIG men can't take the load playing 35+ minutes regularly. Under 30 minutes seems to be a "magic" number for more big men consistency. Its to show I wasnt "sold" on Yao being "that" guy. But at the START of Yao's career, there was enough similar future promise even if it ended up being a tease. 4 of the top 8 winningest seasons in franchise history came in the Yao Ming era. Not elite enough compared to the league, but for this franchise I think that counts enough. To where we don't have to view Yao like David Carr (meh)

I agree. This is not a good compilation at all. They missed out many better plays from Yao. Off my head... He basically ran over 2 guys on a double team, walked pass the 3rd guy and dunked the ball in. <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XjRYm21QyJ0?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XjRYm21QyJ0?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> First play in this game. How could a 7'6" 310 lbs move so fast and so smooth? <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DwBfOvHY-eQ?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DwBfOvHY-eQ?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> Last play in this game. I miss Yao so much. I know this is cliche but if he never got injured we would have so many more great memories of this truly one of a kind man. He was treated very unfairly by the NBA in terms of foul calls. The NBA gave other teams the go ahead to hack Yao and the refs not to make calls. Adding his 7'6 stature to the equation, his body just couldn't handle it. There are endless videos on youtube with vicious no calls.
