Poster of the Yao & Nash Charity Gala September 14, 2007. So due to some schedule conflicts, Mike James and Mike Conley could not make it to this Yao & Nash Charity Gala. Instead 3 more players agreed to join: Derek Fisher and Sasha Vujacic of LA Lakers and Alando Tucker of Phoenix Suns.
After the closed door team practice/scrimmage, the national team took part in a commercial activity to visit Shenzhen New World Group's headquarter....... And as usual, Big Yao is the centre of attraction/focal point !!
Photos of Yao Ming in action..... Pretty rusty, and not too many play minutes....but the Australian Melbourne Tigers were simply no match for him.... Already into double digit scores wth lots of dunks. Leading 62 vs 38 now in 4Q.
it's an ugly brickfest till near the end of the game when the outcome was already decided. Yao had a decent game scoring 12 points.
Here you go...... HIGHLIGHT VIDEO Yao Ming scored 12 points (5/9 FG% 2/2 FT%)/8 rebounds; Yi Jianlian 20 points (6/10 FG% 8/8 FT% (??))/10 rebounds.
good stuff nice to see yao playing well but not being overworked uncessarily. btw i was reading online somewhere that yao and yi may miss some of the start of training camps because of the national team? can you confirm this pryuen?
That's correct. CBA has arranged a series of exhibition games for the national team in September, and had therefore sort of "demanded" that both Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian should not depart for USA until after October 3. The following is the detail game schedule for the national team in September: Sept 3 Shenzhen vs the Australian Melbourne Tigers Sept 5 Macau vs the Autralian Melbourne Tigers Sept 14 The Yao & Nash Charity Gala (i.e. China national team vs NBA Invitational Team led by Steve Nash) Sept 21 Xiaolan vs Australian Brisbane Bullets Sept 23 Xinhui vs Australian Brisbane Bullets Sept 24 Zhuhai vs Australian Brisbane Bullets Sept 28 Hefei vs Australian Sydney Kings Sept 29 Kunshan vs Benetton Treviso Sept 30 Kunshan vs Moscow CSKA Oct 1 Kunshan vs Australian Sydney Kings Oct 18 Macau vs Orlando Magic
I read that Wang Zhizhi missed the game due to fever and diarrhea... Judging by this pictur, I believe it...
dang thanks for the update i am not totally upset as he'll be at most of the training camp just hoped he'd be there for the entire camp as I am sure there is a lot for him to learn from the new coaching staff as well as getting to understand his new role(s) on the team with the new coaches and players.
