Who are these centers? Don't give me a list of Small and Power Forwards playing Center- because they don't count!! If Forwards play the center position we should guard them with our star Power Forward. don't you think? :p

Yao has alot more impact on the basketball court then what amare will ever have. yao is a match winner, amare is a flashy player with little substance.

    LOL !!

Yao Ming and Ye Li got followed by paparazzi and this photo taken when they were in Venice.

So according to what was reported today in the China website, the happy couple had wrapped up thier honeymoon in Europe (which encompasses the Alps, Hamburg, Berlin and Venice) and returned back to China on the 26th. He will report back to national team today (August 28) to prepare for a series of exhibition matches in September.

I agree to the extent that Yao is a winner - contrary to the opinions of many other people. But points on the board are points on the board... I hate STAT, but he is a very good finisher and there is no denying that.

Why did they go to Hamburg, Berlin? They are so many good places like Venice, Yao should ask me for an advice, I was Europe for several years. HaHa.

Big Yao interrupted his honeymoon in the Alps to be in Hamburg just to rave his support for his national team team mates when China met Germany in a friendly. Right after that he continued onto Berlin.

Yao Ming lived up to his promise and rejoined the national team in Beijing today.

He checked in the Tiantan Apartment at the National Sports Bureau around noon.

He then appeared around 15:00pm on the field to do some running....400-meter, and then a couple 100 meters.

When his team mates were doing their scrimmage, he was on his own, working with the ropes, biking and to-and-fro sprinting across the court.

When the CBA Deputy Commissioner asked after his conditions, he told him honestly that he does not feel too good, and it will take some time for him, probably 2 months or so to be back into his top and competitive form.....

Photos of Yao Ming running on the field with Acting Head Coach, Guo Shiqiang of the China's national team.

    http://dailynews.dayoo.com/sports/news/2007-08/29/content_3028171.htm

He ran 3 X 400 meters, and then 6 X 100 meters, and obviously having stayed away from his strength and conditioning for the whole month, he was not up to speed yet.

Yao looks like he's carrying a little pooch. He's got a little more work to do...but then so does Stevie Francis.

Not a problem. our 1st preseaspn is on october 9th. if he leaves china on the 4th, he'll be in houston by the 7th at the latest. that gives him 2 days to get ready for the preseason game.

Thats only assuming adelman even plans on using yao in those games. personally i think he'll try to play the likes of Butler, reed, head, brooks and co to evaulate where they are. our stars wont see many pre-season minutes.

don't quite understand your estimation that it will take yao 4 days to fly from china to houston? if yao leaves china on the 4th, he can very easily arrive in houston on the 4th with the 13 hr time difference.

Well is'nt there any stop overs. when i travelled overseas( iran) usually there is a stop over. sometimes upto a day. however if there is a flight express from china to the states, then yes it makes it easier to get there within 24 hours. thayts assuming yao gets on the connecting flight from Los Angeles to houston within that day.

It ust re-affairms my point of it wont have any effect on yao if he gets to houston say2 to 4 days into the training camp.

no big deal. i am sure yao has flown so many times to and from china that he knows just to fly directly into san fran or la and take another airline (continental) that has continuous flights into houston to save on time.

Yao Ming appeared in a press conference today in Beijing to announce a charity fund-raising game between the China national team versus a NBA Invitational Team on September 14.

He said after a heavy defeat at the hands of Phoenix Suns, he sort of chatted with Steve Nash, and brought up this idea, and had been working on it for the past 7 months together with Steve Nash.

The roster of the NBA Invitational Team is yet to be finalized, but it probably will include Steve Nash, Greg Oden, Baron Davis, Mike Conley, Carmelo Anthony, Leandro Barbosa, Bonzi Wells, Mike James, Chuck Hayes.

Yao Ming will play for the NBA Invitational Team for first half, and then play for the national team the second half.

Steve Nash was also on a long distance call on the other side of Phoenix as early as 05:00am in the morning to join the press conference.

The proceedings of the charity fund-raising game will go to a China Youth Development Foundation.

    BONZI WELLS??!!!

I've never seen that guy play for the Rockets before.
They'd better schedule the game around Dim Sum.
