Yao Ming again used his sense of humor when facing reporters' endless questions after training/practice. I'm not too good at translation and I didn't do it word by word:

Reporter: Now you joined with national team again, do you see/feel any diference?
Yao: Yeah everyone is one year older.

Reporter: You know that Wang Zhizhi may get a chance to play in Europe, what do you think about that?
    Yao: I'm not his agent.

Reporter: Can you predict Rockets' starting lineup for next season?
Yao: Do I look like the head coach?

Reporter: Tell us how you think about Yi Jianlian (as a bball player)?
    Yao: Very handsome.

Reporters: Have you ever attended friend's wedding?
    Yao: Yes, I have.
Reporters: Which part of the wedding impressed you the most?
    Yao: Eating.

Huh? He is RETIRED, and he is going to CHINA to help train Yao.......how is that nothing?

I don't doubt for a minute that denniscd has some issues with CD, but going to China to help him train is good news.

It's very quiet today and Yao Ming was not available for any media/press as the national team just resumed their closed door training. I assumed Big Yao just wanted to concentrate on his training, kept a low profile after he rebuked the open harsh criticism from the All-China Sports Federation.

If this news came yesterday during the open day for the media, then maybe Yao would have alot of stories to tell.

I will keep an eye on this, and when any of his comments/reactions about the deal comes up, I'll post it here on the forum.

LOL at the sarcasm. He's probably pissed off because they called him out for doing charitable work & planning his wedding.

By looking at those photos yao looks happier than he usually is and I am pretty sure when those photos were taken yao who had been in contact with steve knew he was signing with the rockets. I have no doubt yao is a much happier person now just from how close they used to be. I think signing francis is going to improve team chemistry no doubt as long as we can get rid of both JLIII and skip.

I think the guy behind Yao and the guy in the orange shirt is a sniper. That camera is actually a gun.

The national team had another closed door training today in Beijing before they depart for Guangzhou and Macau tomorrow (July 27) for the 3rd FIBA Stankovic Continental Cup tournament with Angola, New Zealand, Slovenia and NBDL All Stars July 28 to August 2.

Yao Ming was also there at the team practice. But he did not join the scrimmage; he just workout on his own.

He will not join the national team to travel to Guangzhou and Macau, but instead he will return to Shanghai for more rest and treatment to his shoulder.

He will not rejoin the national team when they return to Beijing on August 2, but instead he will go back to Beijing around August 8 to appear in a 1-year countdown to 2008 Olympic activity.
