I think she is, and she may have already lost her parents to AIDS. I'm not sure if I remember that correctly, though.
Yao Ming seems to have a great time at the Basketball Without Borders Asia 2007...... During the break, he started practicing his shootout....even beyond the 3-pointer arc !!
It was back in the Basketball Without Borders Asia 2005....I think the inaugurial BWB Asia held in Beijing. There was also this event when Yao Ming and the NBA stars went to Qinghua University to meet with a batch of AIDS/HIV infected orphans. This little girl told her sad story about losing her parents, and due to she was HIV infected that she got no friends and always ignored/despised by her peers..... She was so sad that she started to cry.....and Yao Ming just helped to wipe her tears. It was reported on all major press....Chinese and international about this. http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2005-07/18/content_461135.htm
those look like college 3pointers. top of the key shots. i'm sure he will shoot plenty of those next season in rick's system.
OK, this is what confuses me. His name has been out there for over a year with the possibility he could get traded. Why now all of a sudden it makes him sick enough to miss an event he is scheduled to make an appearance at? Was Luther really sick and the writer just made an assumption trying to put the two together, or did something come up all of a sudden that made it more of a realization?
Everyone around him seems amused that he's taking that shot. I doubt we'll see Yao jacking up a lot of 20-footers this coming season.
Interesting incident during the Basketball Without Borders Asia 2007 camp. On the session with the AIDS/HIV orphans, Joan Chen wanted to have a picture taken together with Yao Ming. But Big Yao was busy talking/chatting with the orphans, signing off T-shirts and other souvenirs that Joan Chen just sneaked up from behind just like a little fan and requested the reporters to take these shots.
She is one of the very few Chinese actresses that made big time in Hollywood prior to others like Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi. She starred in The Last Emperor, Taipan and Twin Peaks and she also directed "Autumn In New York." She is from Shanghai.
Just read it over sina.com that Shane Battier will skip visiting Shanghai. Instead China Peak Group might add Guangzhou into his itinerary. So no visit to Big Yao's home, and no Shanghainese cusine from Mom Yao as originally planned. It remains to be seen whether Yao Ming will fly Beijing to host Battier a dinner, as Yao Ming sort of pormised him before that he will treat Battier on his next visit to China.
Shes' not hot. I wouldn't want her to sit on my lap. I'm sure Yao must be thinking the same thing ie "Get away from me..haha". Gong Li on the other hand is hot.
