I cant believe CBA is risking yaos' shoulder to play against crappy teams like Angola, Slovenia, Venezuela, New Zealand.
Yao Ming showed up in a Coca Cola sponsored activity, organized by the Chinese Olympics Organizing Committee today in Beijing Qinghua University, starting the 400 days countdown to 2008 Olympics. Cocal Cola managed to get alot of the famous Chinese athletes to this event, including Zhao Ruirui from women volleyball (the one standing beside Yao Ming), Wang Liqin the king in table tennis, and Guo Jingjing, the queen of diving.....and of course Yao Ming. Liu Xiang, the 110-meter hurdle world record holder and Olympic champion who was a no-show to this event, also appeared through a pretaped video. And Yao Ming told the reporters very soon a Coca Cola sponsored promotional commercial for 2008 Olympics featuring him and Liu Xiang will be launched in China and globally. Maybe after the termination of his contract with Pepsi Cola recently, this is early sign of Coca Cola signing up Yao Ming......
It looks like they gave Yao a woman's blouse instead of the longer sleeved men's shirt the other guy is wearing.
i was thinking the same thing..it loks like Yao is wearing womens pants and shirt that should be the rockets new warmup suits
It might be a good opportunity for Yao to pracctice those new moves he learned from CD and Hakeem. If his shoulder is that badly damaged, regardless of today, or tomorrow, it will be problematic. Let's hope that it is a minor injury and not serious.
I kind of suspect that this shoulder injury is one of those phantom injuries that always happen to Yao after season's end as a way to avoid as much as possible Chinese basketball commitments. I think this is both agreed upon by both Yao and the CBA so that publicly, Yao can say, I want to play for my country etc but due to injury, he can't. It's good PR for both the China and Yao.
So after spending one day there in Beijing on the 400 days countdown event of the 2008 Olympics, Yao Ming flew back to Shanghai on July 3 night, and, in his capacity as the Globla Image Spokesperson for Special Olympics, visited a social welfare institute in Shanghai on July 4, and joined 1,500 intellectual disabled athletes, children and volunteers to create ceramic tiles to be put together as walls to promote the Special Olympics, which Shanghai is hosting from Oct. 2-11.
