Duncan never played more than 37 minutes/game after he was 27 years old, amazing! 4 out of 11 seasons, he played more than 39 minutes/game, that's before he was 27 years old. After that, he didn't play more than 37 minutes/game. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3173/career;_ylt=Aq.OZHI39YApuaZwrVltgSSkvLYF Steve Nash never played more than 36 minutes/game over his CAREER. Nash's minutes did NOT, let me emphasize, did NOT increase DRAMATICALLY after moving to Phoenix. It is an increase of roughly ONE minute/game, and he has never EVER played more than 36 minutes/game. Yao's 37 minutes/game this year is more than the average minutes Nash played over his career. Check the stats, http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3103/career;_ylt=Aq.OZHI39YApuaZwrVltgSSkvLYF You need to get your stats right before saying what you want to say. You got fooled by newspapers.
I knew some of the poster where stretching it abit claming that some other stars have consistently played over 37 mpg, when they haven't. They only reason Yao has had to play so many minutes is the team struggles when he is out. And have very few other scoring options. If you are looking for heavy minutes loggers look no further than Kobe, A.I., Pierce, and Garnett. Most have played most of their seasons over 38 mpg, even reached over 40 a few times.....bad trend is .... most of their teams were struggling when they were logging more and more minutes.
