What a nonsense article. Sometimes I really think the Sina reporters play us like a puppet. They would make up something outrageous and then sit back and watch some Rockets fans here gone ape in the next few days, while laughing their ass off. Some of us seem to be so angry that they might go through a period of depression or something. Pryuen, I appreciate your translation works. But I think you should be more selective in picking the good articles only.
The real reason why Yao's exhausted: a lot of bangings in the bedroom. The body of a married man is never the same as a virgin.
Look at Spurs' strategy. They got guys rested enough for the playoff. We have so many people in roster. Today we even have Novak. Why not give Yao a break?
LOL! The Spurs are well-oiled machine. They are 14 games above 500 no matter how poor they play. A playoffs spot wont be a problem for them. The Rockets are 4 games above 500 and currently No. 10th in WC standings. The Rockets still can rest Yao for sure if they want. But then, the Rockets most likely will take a better rest this summer starting April.
1993-94 Houston Rockets NBA WORLD CHAMPIONs NBA Defensive Player of the Year NBA Finals MVP NBA MVP Center Hakeem Olajuwon Average minutes per game 41
you guys are bunch of ******, and private i don't want to hear from you again. I don't want to see you post anything on ************. Give Yao a break, he is playing above his average mins. there is total of 48 mins and he is plaing up to close to 41 to 45 mins now. seriously do any of you want Rockets to go far and deep into the playoffs? Then properly resting our star players is one way to make sure either tmac or yao don't get injured. did you know we just lost to jazz? Yao was out of that game due to respiratory infection. could it have anything to due with his? We got deke, why not use him more?
We could afford to play Yao fewer minutes in the past because we used to have a back-up center (and a pretty solid one)... we no longer have that luxury. Now, whenever Yao leaves, we are playing small-ball. Our tallest player is usually no more than 6'9" or 6'8".
sensationalist article. under jvg ball yao wasn't effective over longer periods as he had to wwf it all the way. that's not the case with adelman. yeah an extra 5mins a game will cause him to go anorexic like a marathon runner...
RA need this team to enter playoff to keep his job, so is the GM, scout, etc. So after the slump, he can only catering to brute force method. Forget about the playoff wins, if rox can enter the playoff, it will be good enough for front office.
Popovich is smart enough to rest his players so they are read for the playoffs. Yao is bigger and has more problems in keeping his energy level up. JVG was abosultely right in what he was doing, and he still won more games.
Isn't your stamina suppose to get better the more minutes you play? Im not a believer limiting minutes for star players in the league. Keeping players fresh is overrated.
You are mistaken Sir!! This article is quite sgnificant and very important to Rocket's success under Coach A. Coach A has been using Yao Ming in away that is not an efficient use of his abilities. It is worth of an article!
Because of conditioning and injury concerns Yao and Tracy should both be limited to 30 minutes per game (average).
One not insignificant reason the Spurs are so good in the playoffs is that their players play limited minutes (under 35) and are rested. Phoenix has been trying the same thing with Nash. This is just more evidence to me that Coach A is not as good as Coach JVG.
yeah AI doesn't have to carry around a 7'6" 310lbs frame back and forth down the court. he's a 6" guard. he's gonna have lots of energy. also genetically, yao isn't as athletically gifted as other NBA players. im not trying to be racist, im jus stating the facts.
Might have to do with them being older. Nash's minutes has increased dramatically since he arrived in Phoenix. This year he is averaging 34.2 mpg which is higher then most years. Duncan is a lot older now and more injury prone but he had a lot of seasons where he averaged 39mpg.
