I love Bill and Calvin. Even if the Rox are losing the game, I still watch it because of them. They are a great duo together.

Me too.!! This is a Houston Rocket Fan Base , so you can expect to find some other extremely biased fans here too.

If you are looking for Walton worshipers, you will have better luck on a Blazer site.

Thanks for the tip zzhiggins, I didn't know this was a Rockets fan base. But if you look up the thread a little you will see that I was the first person to mention Petersen, and said that I prefer to listen to him while I watch the game, translated for you - I like him.

And by the way, Bill Walton is one of the only national commentators who gave the Rockets and Hakeem props back before they won their titles and he is one of the only ones now who gives Yao props. Walton can be an overwhelmingly ridiculous b@stard but he knows what he is talking about and he is entertaining. Calvin is entertaining too, but in a "Is he still talking about his old schoolsocks?" kind of way.

He really reflects the Chinese culture. Regarding his interpreter, he does not want him to get fired that soon. This also reflects the culture, although to be considerate is not always good.

Listening to the LA game online the other night, you'd get a good appreciation for how biased all announcers really are. I have to go into work late Sudnay night. I'm listening on 610 on the way to work, and apparantly every time Kobe gets the ball a ref calls a foul on the Rockets - sounds like calssic Kobe treatment to me. I get to work, dial up online with the LA announcers, and apparantly Kobe is getting hammered yet can't buy a call from the refs.

The Boston TV announcers are the most bias, but it does make watching them on League Pass fun sometimes.

Peterson has actually toned down his bias and ridicule of the refs in comparison to the mid to late 80s and early 90s. I remember the radio broadcast got knocked off the air once because Foley and he had called a game winning shot (i cant remember what game that was ....anyone) and they were so loud, it distrupted the signal or something. lol

Also, I remember Gene made a smart ass comment to a ref and the ref said something mean to him in return, something to the effect of calling Gene an ass or something.

Anyway, I miss the old Gene. I guess you settle down as you get older. :D

I like it sometimes. Alot of the announcers gush over Steve. Makes me appreciate what alot of Rocket fans do not.

Bill and Calvin are a good team. However, Van Chancellor in the preseason game at San Antonio wasn't bad either...
