How could Yao's first game back be anything other than a success?

Did he re-injure his foot? No? Then it was a success, because it's a HUGE confidence boost to Yao.

Good point. My expectations all along has been that this season will be sort of a repeat of his rookie season. Yao went scoreless in his first NBA game and then about 20 games into that season he found his comfort level and made improvement in each game that followed. Hopefully that is the type of pattern that will play out this year as well so he will be close to what he was by the time the playoffs come around.

Someone else looked like he had a serious near career ending injury and didn't play well.......hmm i think his name was T-Mac. ohh and YAO was limping in the 2nd quarter. Overall he was weak but hey i guess thats ok because he was wearing a jersey and ran down the court a few times. lol

I think the limp was more of a soreness reaction. I mean you could tell he's tired and somewhat out of shape. One thing I am impressed is how he dove for that ball. Give him time and we'll see some improvements.

Is funny that how awful some thing he was, he still commanded double team and the fronting with someone behind defense around him and D Howard need help every time he went one on one. And that is with a guy out the league for a long time and ultra slow. The team still paying a lot of attention.

If Yao is ok after tonight, he will bounce back alright. He was outplaying Howard early until he started getting tired.

I think all rockets should be happy for Yao. He is still able to play on the nba court. That is a huge success for a player who had a serious foot surgery and being out of 1.5 years!

The ways he was limping at the end was not a good sign. The chance he gets hurt is greater than 50/50

Give Yao 3 or 4 months. If his health holds, he'll be better. Looked horrible tonight, but a lot of that was due to tentativeness that should disappear with reps. I hope.

According to most people on this board, "Superman" doesn't have a post game.

Therefore, Yao must have been god awful, because he made Dwight look like the Dream.

Based off this game, Dwight definitely improved his offensive game working with Hakeem.

    No need for name-calling.

To me, Yao looked great! I was happy to finally see him on the court. I didn't expect much so he surprised me when he went for the loose ball. Only time will tell, he will get better each and every game. Watch...
