This strategy only works when everyone on the floor are talented enough to "get it". However, the problem with the Rox doesn't lie with their leadership but rather aptitude. When you've got bone-headed point guards out there jacking up low percentage shots or making bad shot selections, you gotta start worrying about the rotation more.

As much as I would like to give Rick a get out of jail free card for the past 10 games, I can't but help that he must shoulder some of the blames. He substitution patterns and lack of adjustments are killing the team and he has become obvious. Yao has been quite vocal about it and even went to talk to him in person. I don't think Yao has ever had this kind of talk with JVG on the team.

Now, Adelman needs to show his players and fans that he is better coach than JGD. So far, he didn't show it.

Under Adelman's system, Yao needs to change more than any other player. Adelman needs to convince Yao why he should do that change.

Don't blame Yao! For anyone, if you were the top C in the league under one system, but you were told to change the way you played under a new system, you would accept it only when you believe this new system can bring more wins!

Yao needs to learn to become the true leader of the team and come out pi$$ed off before the game starts, like Larry Bird did when he played(he could care less about the opposing teams).

The way of the Coach is being reflected in the teams attitudes. Just look
at the last game and see what happened in the early part of the fourth
qtr. Without McGrady to lead on the court the poor attitude/ effort let
the Mavericks take over the game. I saw hardly any direction from the
Coach or Coaching Staff during this time. I consider this style of coaching leading to a downfall and it was in direct contrast to the Mavericks Coach and Staff. :p

or maybe it's just we have rafer/head as our PGs who don't know how to run a team. they have devin harris and jason terry.

play steve for god sakes. we need some talent at that position.

    WRONG!

Yao needs to speak out more and call out whoever needs to be called out. If people are show'n up for work late and there is no accountability, and he is show'n up, then he has every right to speak out and he should speak out as one of the leaders of this team.

If Adelman wants his players and fans have confidence in him, he should show them he has confidence in himself first. In fact, he used old start lineup to keep JGD's defense system, and this let his players feel himself is not confident in his own system. How can those players have confidence in his new system?

I am with you. JVG programmed all his players to be robots, maybe except tmac. It was predictable offense. They just need to be usd to not getting micro-managed. Use their HEADS to play the ball. It is a different coaching style, but not every coach does the same way as jvg and some of them re successful. Reporters can crticize coach's xo,rotation etc, but gossip about hours of work is as low as jouranlism could go, unless RA is like Bush doesnt show up at work when needed. ;)

the superstarsyao and tmac should be demanding for the ball and curse and these bone headed pgs.. and if they get the ball, they should not kick it back out to those boneheads..

Yes, right. That'd help build team chemistry. Thanks for the tip.

Yao should STFU and just do his thing. He is really annoying recently. Stop complaining please. If you really want to complain, blame yourself Yao, not your coaches, not your teammates. Also stop your nostalgia for good JVG days. I still remember that Yao also complaint JVG a lot when the latter was the Rockets coach. STFU.

It seems some you guys didn't get it. Yao 'complain' means he doesn't mind to be traded. I guess he is very disappointed.

Man, this is the only reasonable post in this freaking thread. The point is, when JVG WAS here, people complained about how he didn't give the players any room to breathe. Now that we've got a coach that allows some offensive freedom, we need go back to the way it was? No way.....what we need is for Yao to step up, and take games over when he feels them slipping away from him. He's the best center in the league, and he needs to start acting like it. Tracy McGrady is only a good leader when he is making his shots. If he's off, or if he's uncomfortable, he relies on his jumpshot, and he doesn't impose his will on the game. If Yao is so strong-willed, he needs to start showing it on AND off the court.

So can you advise a way that he can step up and show his leadership/dominance at the crunch when he was NOT even getting the fre@king ball, with his team mates laying bricks ?

He voiced out his dissatisfaction because he sensed

    • The decline in discipline in his team
    • The slow in-game response and adjustment
    • The dwindling Win/Loss ratio
    • They are digging a hole too big for themselves to climb out of in the fiercely competitive Western Conference
    • The team defense the Rockets was famous for in the past 4 years is gone

Maybe if Yao wasnt getting his shot blocked by little guards and turning the ball over, they would get him the ball.

Then he would have room to talk.

I thought he was referring to marriage and the loss of his virginity...
