Yes, I think it will happen. Yao is seriously getting frustrated with Adelman. I think he understands what is happening. It may be that this is the best thing that happens to Yao. Next year, Yao's career will experience a huge resurgence. Los Angeles. A huge market. Big Asian population. Legendary team surpassing anything Houston has ever done. Legendary player in Kobe. Legendary Coach. Yao belongs with the Los Angeles Lakers. And when he signs with the Lakers, I will promptly leave this Rockets site. But until then, I will continue rooting for the Rockets though I am unhappy with coach Adelman.
You can stay, just stop ***** posting about Yao, the hate is bad enough as it is and all you are doing is making it worse.
If this is Yao's last season with the Rockets I think it will be a good decision for all parties. The Rockets can finally move on from the unsuccessful Yao-Mcgrady era and Yao can have his shot to win a ring with a contender. I do hope that we can get something for Yao so if we trade him and his expiring contract by the trading deadline that is probably the best option.
What are you getting at here? What do you think "is happening"? Yao is injured. That's what is happening. And that's what has been happening for a good chunk of the last 5 years.
That really depends IMO, most of the scenarios involves players like Iggy, which I must admit is not that unrealistic, however the question has to be asked. Can the Rockets become legit contenders with a player like Iggy? Because if we can't, we are stuck with another 10mil+ contract for 3 years. I am actually quite excited by the prospect of the Rockets completely rebuilding since we are never good enough or bad enough and Iggy IMO is not the missing piece that pushes us into contender status.
Exactly! You get it. Morey needs to get it also. Trade Yao and get some assets for him. Then Yao can sign with a contender next year. Everyone is happy.
If he leaves, I hope it's to a team like the Lakers where he'll ride the pine on the IR and take up some of their payroll.
I think if Yao resigns with us next season, we will see a big drop in the number of Rockets fans. I for one would stop following the Rockets (NBA for that matter since Rox is the only reason I still watch this sport) until it is clear that winning is on Les' and the front office's minds. The last decade was not a good time to be a Rockets fan. Injuries after injuries and next year's promise after next year's promise.
I think that the assets that the Rockets should pursue are draft picks. A player like Iggy is not going to make us that much better and we have a chance to be stuck in mediocrity for years to come. I would try to trade Yao for a bad contract as long as it's not too long plus first round picks(s). You have to rebuild from the draft.
Do you think Yao has ever been happy with this coach and this system? If the answer is yes, you are clueless. If the answer is no, then you might understand his recent comments about being a "second rounder". Yao understands there has been a shift. Players like Brooks have eclipsed him because Yao doesn't fit the Adelman system. Not like Miller or Brooks can. Any player will be frustrated to see his role diminished. It's natural.
Seriously GTFO out of here. Legendary team surpassing anything Houston... - Oh so legendary to get handed the best players (most of who are arrogant assholes). Oh we'll just forget that they totally sucked until Pau magically landed in their laps. Legendary player in Kobe... - just go to Lakersgrou... I mean "I want to fellate Kobeground" Legendary coach - he was so legendary without the best talent that he got into the first round! OMG all kneel before the zen master.
The Pistons' frontcourt is small and probably not the matchup for Yao, especially on his first game back. But yeah, not practicing is a bit of a surprise.
Or it could be that his role was dminished because he is never playing? I mean, what role did Grant Hill have with the Magic, if you even know whom I am talking about? It is the same thing. We assume roles on the basis that Yao is not around, because well, he pretty much never is around. And Yao should really not have a problem with that until he can prove that he can consistent minutes.
Yes. I guess I'm clueless. In any case, Yao has no reason to be frustrated with the coach this season. The past is the past.
